THOUSAND OAKS FIRE CREWS GET BACKED UP BY LOCAL BOY: Ventura County Fire crews responding to several spot fires in the area of the SB 23 Freeway and Sunset Hill...s, let a local boy take a turn on the fire hose. His family lives a short distance from where the spot fires started, and were touched the firefighters took time for their little guy. The fire was reported to be about an acre in size with crews working quickly to extinguish the flames. Traffic on SB 23 was shut down while Air Squad 7 set down to drop off a crew.
