As much as we hate to say this, drug and alcohol addiction doesn’t end at rehab. Attending an aftercare program is critical to long-term recovery. Research confirms that people who sign up for aftercare services experience lower relapse rates than those who don’t. Coastline Behavioral Health offers inpatient and outpatient rehab services to help addicts build a better, sober life. #drugrehab #addictiontreatment #addictionaftercare #aftercareprograms #saynotodrugs #coastlinebehavioralhealth

David explains how Coastline’s Relapse Prevention program works for clients in Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) here in Southern California. RESOURCES & LINKS: Rehab Center Southern California: http://bit.ly/2ko65e3 Coastline Behavioral Health: Does Rehab Cure Addiction 2019... http://bit.ly/DoesRehabCureAddiction We have clients think about what their own personal warning signs that they might be relapsing. For one client compared to another client they may have completely different signs that tell them that something's wrong and something needs to be corrected. We have them write a goodbye letter to drugs or alcohol. We have them write an autobiography. Those are some pretty basic assignments, but then we really get into if for some reason I relapse what was what are the things that would talk me into getting back to my sobriety and giving it another shot. We have them set up an immediate relapse prevention plan. Here are the things that are a danger to me. Here are the things I need to avoid. Here are some things I can proactively do instead. And again building up that mindset that says to be vigilant to ward off the temptation of going to drink or use, but also just create this mindset that kind of sticks with you. And we'll stick with you after you leave the program if you're discharged from Coastline.

As part of our Men’s Experiential Program, we take advantage of our Southern California location. Our clients enjoy being out in the ocean surfing on a regular basis. RESOURCES & LINKS: Rehab Center Southern California: http://bit.ly/SubstanceAbuseTreatmentNow Coastline Behavioral Health: Does Rehab Cure Addiction 2019... http://bit.ly/DoesRehabCureAddiction Andrew shares about how important it is for clients in alcohol rehab to stay physical and participate in activities such as surfing. Surfing is a great opportunity for our clients to disconnect from their electronic devices, from whatever they have going on in their world at that time and just really immerse themselves in the experience. It takes a lot when you're out there in the water. You need to be cognizant of the waves around you. Surfing requires a lot of situational awareness, so when they immerse themselves in that experience it helps them get outside of their head. They're not stuck on that loop of all the negativity that they have going on in their life or the issues that they have going on that are causing them to feel depressed, anxiety, anger, and just that little break can give them so much relief in early recovery. Even if it's for an hour, that little break shows them what's possible and then next time they get in the water they're a little bit more skilled Want to learn more about our rehab center? http://bit.ly/AboutCoastlineRehab Need help finding treatment for a loved one? http://bit.ly/rehabadmissionsprocess Andrew Lopez Experiential Therapy Director Coastline Behavioral Health https://coastlinerehabcenters.com 714-841-2260 https://www.google.com/maps?cid=4295516841844162328

http://bit.ly/HopeInSobriety Big Rock Triathlon 2019 Our own Jason Jacobs trained and dominated his age group in the Big Rock Triathlon this past April and shares the experience with those looking for hope in sobriety. ... So many of us have lived without hope and some kind of purpose until we took the steps to get the drug rehab for addiction that we needed. Until I came into addiction treatment, I did not have control over much of my life. I didn’t have the skills to interview, I didn’t know how to pay my bills, I couldn’t live in my own space for more than a few months. I had focused and worked hard to better my life from an emotional and spiritual position, but I had let myself slide physically. I started hitting the gym and getting physical, and ended up finding an athletic coach that I know could help me get my training on track to give me the edge I needed. Addiction recovery is multi-layered. There are steps that we all have to take to get ourselves on the path to long-term sobriety. Orange County Drug rehab centers should provide opportunities for clients to make physical goals for themselves that they can pursue and achieve. Part of the recovery process is learning ways to cope with addiction triggers while rebuilding health. This includes not only the physical health, but the emotional and psychological recovery we all need to chase our own dreams following rehab. http://bit.ly/DoesRehabCureAddiction RESOURCES & LINKS: Opiate Addiction Treatment at Coastline: http://bit.ly/opiaterehabcenter Coastline Behavioral Health: How Addiction Rehab Works... http://bit.ly/DrugAddictionTreatmentSteps Justin shares about how and why Coastline Behavioral Health started out in Huntington Beach, CA. As far as our location, it would be mostly based on the fact that my partner and I grew up in Newport Beach and in Costa Mesa. We ended up getting addicted to drugs in this area. Some of us ended up going to jail or prison, or ended up homeless. I think that what we saw was a real need for the town in which we grew up. So for us I think there's a little bit of bias considering that we saw a lot of our friends fall off the wagon. We had a couple of friends that died. We had a couple of friends that did long term stints in prison. This area, in particular, when it comes to people that are from the Midwest or the East Coast or wherever in the country, it's just kind of a nice serene environment where you're not dealing with harsh climates. I think the fact that you're able to be outdoors [during] this journey while you're here is really influential. Being physical and engaging in activities that will ultimately, or hopefully, become things that you want to do in the long term is the goal. I think when we get sober the idea is that the fun is over and that the party has stopped and what we're trying to do here in Huntington Beach is evoke that sense of happiness and ultimately fun. All [experiential therapy activities] are different activities that can ultimately lead to long-term hobbies with our clients.
