Coastal Inspections

Home inspections can be considered a low-risk category. Medium exposure risk jobs include those that require frequent and/or close contact with (i.e., within 6 feet or 2 meters of) other people who may be infected with SARS-CoV-2. Home inspectors are NOT required to be in frequent and/or in close contact with other people who may be infected. A home inspector can perform a home inspection alone. It's possible to conduct home inspections and operate a home inspection business without being near anyone else.

Can home inspection continue during the COVID-19 outbreak? If all safety measures are practiced before the inspection and during the inspection the answer maybe yes. All government orders and recommendations should be complied. All parties involved with home inspection should be responsible to perform all safety measures. Bellow are recommendations from the CDC, NIH, and WHO which may change daily. We need to check the CDC for official updates and recommendations. Buyer...s and Real Estate Agents: 1. Do Not attend the inspection. 2. Make arrangement for inspector to access the property on his own. For example, using the garage keypad remote. 3. Use conference call to go over inspection concern items. Sellers: 1. Reschedule inspection if anyone in the household is sick or shows symptoms of a respiratory illness. 2. Do not attend the inspection and arrange for all occupants to be out of the home for the duration of inspection. 3. Wipe bathroom, kitchen fixtures, toilet handles, and doorknobs with sanitizers before the inspection. See more
