Ava and Emma Meet Ava and Emma. Ava's family is one of the founding families of Club 21. Ava has not only volunteered her time with our organization, but she has introduced Club 21 to others. One of the people she brought to Club 21 is Emma. They have been volunteering together throughout high school. These 2 amazing individuals have turned a friendship and passion for photography into a program for our students. Their courses have gone virtual during the pandemic. Through... photography, they have seen students step out of their shells, develop new skills, and share their artwork. The assignments they give allow students to improve their artistic skills and teach the rest of the class about themselves. Ava and Emma hope to carry into the future the leadership and teaching skills they have learned through their experience at Club 21. They want others to know that Club 21 is an inclusive place. Volunteers will create strong connections and friendships with the people they work with. They say, Go in with an open mind and ready to embrace lots of new bonds. Club 21 wants to give a shout out to Ava and Emma for taking their passion and sharing it with others. We are grateful for their time, talent, and friendship! See more

Club 21 Volunteer Highlight Andrew Club 21 would like to give a shout out to Andrew. Andrew is a high school junior who selected Club 21 as the place to volunteer. He has volunteered with us for over a year. One of his favorite volunteer experiences at Club 21 was working with the students during the cooking and art summer session. He said it was exciting to see the art produced and taste the amazing culinary creations made by the kids. Andrew has been a regular Second S...aturday volunteer for CREW and brought his friends to volunteer as well. Andrew says he has gained leadership skills from his experience at Club 21 which have come in handy for group projects at school. When Andrew is not volunteering at Club 21, he is attending school or doing other extra-curricular activities like orchestra (he plays the trombone), volleyball and building computers for fun. He would tell other kids interested in volunteering at Club 21 to "go for it." Andrew finds volunteering at Club 21 enjoyable and rewarding. He feels it is a great way to connect with kids from Club 21 as well as other student volunteers. When he is asked about his experience working with students with Down syndrome he says, We are all kids at the end of the day! The Club 21 families and staff thank Andrew for being an amazing volunteer. See more
