#YesOnA supporters, we need to address the comment that "Clovis has plenty of money." Clovis does so much for students that people assume the money is endless. It's not. To inform those that don't know (and remind those that may have forgotten): *We are the lowest funded school district in the immediate area *The district closest to us in funding (Central Unified) is allocated nearly $1,000 more per student than CUSD. *Fresno Unified receives OVER $2,000 more per student than... CUSD *Just under 45% of our families need assistance to afford daily meals for their children, so our schools are not full of rich kids. Measure A dollars are strictly allocated for facilities and can not be used for other purposes. We need the bond to pass because we do NOT have the dollars to put towards facilities and maintain our current people and programs. The general fund just can't stretch that far. CUSD is a fiscally responsible school district that hires only the best and stands firmly on our Core Value of "too poor to buy cheap" allowing us to squeeze the most out of every dollar, but let's be clear. CUSD does NOT "have plenty of money." #gocougars #knowthefactsonMeasureA #YESONA See more

Measure A Facts! We NEED this! If this doesn’t pass ALL 5 areas in the Clovis Unified School District will experience boundary changes to accommodate the major overcrowding we are currently experiencing. Clovis Unified will have no choice but to resort to year-round school, double sessions, and busing students miles across town. if this doesn’t pass projects to update older campuses for safety will be on hold or canceled. Clovis Unified has historically been a very goo...d steward of the bond funding. Measure A is NOT a tax increase!! Your taxes will not change. Bond money by law cannot be used to pay any salaries, it is only for buildings. If you like the first-class education this community provides, if you like your increased property value due to the exemplary schools you must please support Measure A. Vote YES ON A! #YESONA #GOCOUGARS Borrowed from Sarah Hill Scharnick See more

CHS YRC SAYS YES ON A! NO ON PROP 15! DISTRICT BOND MEASURE ON BALLOT Clovis Unified has a facilities bond on the November ballot. Some have questioned why now, in the midst of the current pandemic conditions, would the district ask voters to consider this measure. Put simply, we need our community's input about CUSD's future. We are out of space in many of our schools and out of money to continue to maintain, update and build new schools.... Without new funding, the district will have to consider massive district-wide student boundary changes, double sessions or year-round schools in order to accommodate the growing student population. Additionally, Clovis Unified schools (more than half of which were built in the 1950's) would not receive the current high-standard of maintenance the district is known for, and upgrades would be postponed or not happen at all. Measure A is a $335 million bond that does not raise the tax rate. It would provide locally controlled dollars for: Security auto-door locks and hospital-grade air filtration updates to every school. Construction of new schools to create space necessary to avoid widespread boundary changes, double sessions or year-round schools Deferred maintenance and modernization to several aging schools This is a critical time to hear from our constituents on how to proceed. We encourage you to learn the facts about Measure A and cast your vote in the November election.
