#TrafficAlert - The area of Clovis Ave./Dakota Ave. will have a higher traffic volume today, Thursday, December 3, from approximately 9am-3pm due to COVID-19 testing. The attached image is the planned traffic pattern for the testing area. Today is the first of three scheduled No Cost COVID-19 testing opportunities at the City of Clovis Recreation Section. Testing begins at 9am and runs until 3pm. The City of Clovis, California - Government has partnered with United Health C...enters to provide this service. Vehicles will enter northbound from Clovis Avenue into the parking lot of the Clovis Recreation Center, located at the corner of Dakota and Clovis Avenues in Clovis. Please watch for signs and be mindful of pedestrians, other vehicles and obey all traffic rules. You will be asked to stay in your vehicle and wear a mask. Pre-registration is recommended prior to COVID-19 testing by calling UHC at (800) 492-4227.

Thank you to all City Staff members, Community Partners, and Volunteers who helped make today’s Shredfest an overwhelming success. We had an incredible turnout and more than 900 vehicles passed through with documents to be shred. The next Shredfest is scheduled for May of 2021. We will provide additional details in the months to come.

A #Shredfest update #HappeningNow - Thank you to everyone who has participated today in the first Shredfest of the year! Due to the overwhelming interest in this event, our trucks have filled up fast and we need to begin taking them to the secure facility to drop off and destroy the many documents being dropped off.... This will result in a delay for those who are already in line, and those who come out later today. We do plan on continuing Shredfest until 2pm, or until we reach capacity. Thank you for your patience as we work hard to keep the line moving! Update- 12:18PM- The back of the line is now closed and we cannot accept any newcomers due to the overwhelming response! #TrafficAlert We’re assisting the California Highway Patrol on a pin-in accident on Minnewawa just north of Shepherd. Minnewawa will be closed between Behymer and Shepherd until crews finish investigating.

Swift Actions by Residents & Police End in Suspect Arrest This morning, 11/6/20, at about 8:00 AM, residents in a gated community near Willow Ave/Teague Ave noticed an unwelcome guest lurking around their homes. Multiple residents noticed an unknown male trying door handles and acting suspicious, so they immediately called Clovis PD. Officers responded quickly and detained 20 year-old Devon Patterson. After interviewing residents, it was determined that Patterson forced his ...way into a garage, stole items, and then attempted gain entry to another home, but was unsuccessful. Devon Patterson of Rancho Cordova has been booked into Fresno County Jail for residential burglary and attempted burglary. All stolen property was recovered and returned to the victim. We always ask that when you see something suspicious, to call us immediately! This example shows when residents and police work together to protect our community, criminals are held accountable.
