Psst! Check out these exciting prizes you could win, simply by logging all the time you're spending reading! We're still doing the reading challenge this year. ...Paper logs for some age groups are available at branchesbut we're encouraging readers to sign up online, here, if they have access to an Internet-connected device: https://fresnolibrary.bookpoints.org/ There are three different programs this year: kids (0-11), teens (12-18) and adults. Kids and teens can earn two free books for completing their reading challenge, and have the chance to enter into a grand prize drawing for their age groups. Adults can log their reading to be entered into an end-of-summer drawing for a gift card. Readers will have until August 14 to enter their reading data on Bookpoints (link provided above), or to return their paper logs to their branch (if they chose that option). Prize drawings will take place on August 26, and books earned by kids and teens will be made available in early September.
Art by Bobby Von Martin was one of our ArtHop featured artists last year and his exhibit was so popular we asked him back to exhibit again this year. We miss our arthop events and hope to be back to hosting artists when the library is open and events are allowed. In the meantime, Bobby and his brother James have created this beautiful mural featuring indigenous Americans, and will be unveiling the mural July 18 and giving away art supplies to local youth at the event.
