Collective Church 22.01.2021

Our next Prayer Night is set for Monday night @ 7:30. Join us even if you don’t feel like it. Many of us are weary and there’s just nothing like spending time together in the presence of Jesus. We also have much to give thanks to Jesus for. His faithfulness never changes and He never stops working.... Zoom link here: www.collectivechurch.com/links

We will explore the nature and source of Jesus' authority, and see how His authority was questioned and rejected by some. We have the opportunity to consider how we view Jesus as King.

As we shift to our final series in the back half of Mark's gospel, we slowly progress through Jesus' final week in Jerusalem, where Mark answers the question, "How does Jesus become King?" The surprising and scandalous revelation is that Jesus is enthroned as King and his Kingdom was inaugurated through his betrayal, humiliation, suffering, death, and three days later, his resurrection. Amid a pandemic, racial injustices, political upheaval, and even chaotic violence, many Ch...ristians have found solace in the statement, "Jesus is King." Over this spring, we'll find that not only is Jesus' kingship an unshakeable source of peace in 2021, it also sets before us our marching ordersa kingdom politic as "ambassadors of Christ" (2 Cor. 5:20) living on the Westside of Los Angeles.

To truly discover Jesus is to have all your assumptions radically challenged regarding how power is gained and exercised. This week, we’re reflecting not only on the teachings of the Servant-King, but what it means to be his people today. Study up and we’ll see you Sunday. Livestream at 10am and outdoor service at 4pm.
