My own personal ‘Ganesha’, Smitty guards the door as I practice today. I didn’t grow up with dogs and now I have two. Smitty joined us a couple of years ago, and quickly attached himself to me. This was a new experience to have a dog look for me, follow me around and choose me to rest beside. ... They have been a blessing during the pandemic, bringing just enough chaos and joy to the house to remind us that life is still happening. Did you get a pandemic puppy? And if you have a pet what are they going to do when we start leaving the house again??

It’s been a very unique teaching year. We are born to adapt and adapt we have. If you’ve wondered what taking my class is like from a students perspective you can thank @ntrstnglindsay for sharing her practice with us.

Perhaps some of the pain in your body is because of the way you stand? The orange plumb line down the body shows the ideal why to stack your bones is to have the middle of your ear, middle of your shoulder, hip and heel line up. Do you look more like the person on the left? Everything is forward of that line, which can mean that my low back or the back of my neck may be constantly contracting try to pull me back.... Swipe to see some quick actions to get you aligned! 1. Move the top of your thighs straight back. 2. Stretch up your abdominals (rather that squeeze them in) and your back body. 3. Move your head back. Notice now that my butt is lifted, and my tailbone is no longer tucked? I now have access to my glutes, yea! Let me know how it feels for you?

Patience is the antidote to anger, a way to learn to love and care for whatever we meet on the path. By patience, we do not mean endurance-as in grin and bear it. In any situation, instead of reacting suddenly, we could chew it, smell it, look at it, and open ourselves to seeing what’s there. The opposite of patience is aggression-the desire to jump and move, to push against our lives, to try to fill up space. The journey of patience involves relaxing, opening to what’s h...appening, experiencing a sense of wonder -Pema Chodron. How can we move forward in this time without some patience? Without some curiosity?

At some point in time liquid soap made its way into my life, not sure when or how (i’ll blame my husband). I know, what the hell, who cares Claire? Well, I realize this is how things just got outta hand. What was wrong with a bar of soap? When did it get hard to use soap, so hard that we had to have it liquified and put in a plastic bottle? So, just like that, we all started to buy liquified soap, in thick plastic bottles. Cause this is what we do now.... And when I think of the amount of plastic I’ve used to just to have soap flowwwww to me rather than spend the extra ten seconds to rub a bit of hard soap on my body. Time to turn the clock back on some things. Killing the planet is not progress. What are your favorite things you’ve picked up or dropped that are Mother Earth friendly recently??

There is a crisis in our community. This is not the first time i've posted about QAnon, and wish it was the last, but probably not. There has always been a thread of anti-science and intersection of anti-vac in the yoga community. In cult studies it shows that once you believe in one conspiracy theory you then basically fall like a house of cards for any others that come across your plate. Your mind starts to look for the bias it has already accepted.... Ahh neuroscience. The new trend now I see on threads is posting QAnon conspiracy and then vigorously denying that you follow Q. There's one of two things happening here; Either they do follow it and the new 'order' from Q is to deny that you do. Or they've picked up threads of it from other places and have integrated it into their own mythos and really haven't done their research, oh the irony. Someone on a thread told me to 'enjoy my mask-wearing' and my mandatory vaccine. This is the disintegration of critical thinking. This was from someone who purports to heal people. WTF. Yes, I will enjoy wearing my mask to protect myself and others. Yes, I enjoy getting myself and my family vaccines and join in a long line of people who have benefited from vaccines and eradicated terrifying diseases that would rob families of children for centuries. We must as teachers do better guiding our community into critical thinking skills. I think every teacher training now needs a 'how to verify sources of information as you’re doing your research’ Module. Everyone needs to learn some basic journalistic standards to hold onto their integrity. *Please note, if you post any anti-vaccine nonsense on this thread it will deleted. Is there such of thing as vaccine injuries? Of course. But I put my kid in my car every day and her percentage of dying in a car is exponentially enormous compared to any type of vaccine injury.
