Join Mayor Una Glass and Vice Mayor Sarah Glade Gurney in pledging to order takeout once each week from one of our local restaurants. If even half the households in Sebastopol were to participate, it would go a long way towards helping to keep our local restaurants in business and many local residents employed. The dozens of restaurants in Sebastopol offer everything from budget friendly pizzas and tacos to fine dining. Most restaurants offer online ordering and curbside pickup, and some even deliver. Check out the City’s Open Businesses page at http://bit.ly/3n3r4Np or the Chamber of Commerce’s site at http://bit.ly/3hvjXMF to see what’s open and offering special services, and take The Takeout Pledge here http://bit.ly/TakeTheTakeoutPledge.
[En Español abajo] Even though we are under the State mandated Regional Stay Home Order, we are encouraged to get outside and move to help keep our minds and bo...dies healthy. Because COVID-19 cases are surging and hospital beds are filling, we also need to do what we can to stop the rapid spread, no matter where we are. When in public keep your face covering on, and while outside remember to stay at least six feet apart. #SonomaFuerte #SoCoCoronavirus #HagaSuParte

Notice of Intent to Conduct Controlled Burns Friday, December 11 in the Bodega Corridor.* 107-acres at Bodega Pastures, Bodega. The property frontage is along S...almon Creek Road (‘The Thumb’) and lower Fitzpatrick Lane, approximately 2 miles northwest of Bodega. 33-acres at Casul Ranch, Bodega. The property includes frontage along Bodega Highway, approximately 2 miles east of Bodega, near the Watson School. (*subject to change depending on conditions.) ------------- **Smoke and Traffic Advisory** If weather permits, the controlled burns will commence as early as 10:00 a.m. and conclude around 3:30 p.m. There may be smoke in the air for approximately 5.5 hours. Travelers in the Sebastopol/Occidental/Bodega area may see smoke in the air or experience slowing traffic. This is a controlled burn conducted under a burn permit issued by CAL FIRE; do not call 911. --------------- Outcomes for these controlled burns include reducing wildfire fuels, improving grazing pastures and building ecosystem resilience in the mixed evergreen / coastal scrub areas of the properties. This controlled burn is part of the eight-week Cal-TREX Bay Area prescribed fire training event organized by ACR’s Fire Forward program and the Bay Area Prescribed Fire Council, with participation from Gold Ridge Fire, North Bay Fire Bodega Station, Anderson Valley Fire, Good Fire Alliance members, Prometheus Fire Consulting, and other Cal-TREX partners. Many thanks to the Bodega Pastures community and Casul Ranch for hosting and supporting this work. Press Democrat
