NOVEMBER 3, 2020 GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION-OAKLEY CITY COUNCIL Preliminary Election Results A General Municipal Election was held November 3, 2020 in Oakley for the following offices: Three members of the City Council to be elected at-large for full, four-year terms. ... Preliminary (unofficial) results indicate Aaron Meadows, George Fuller and Anissa Williams have received the highest number of votes for the three open seats on the Oakley City Council. Final (official) election results are due December 3rd. Elected candidates will be sworn in December 8th during an Oakley City Council meeting. TODAY IS ELECTION DAY! Election Day is this Tuesday, November 3rd! Every registered voter in California received a vote-by-mail ballot this election. Vote-by-mail ballots may be returned by mail (no stamp required) or dropped in an official vote-by-mail drop box such as the box we have at City Hall located under the flag pole. The box is open 24/7 and will be locked promptly at 8:00 p.m. TONIGHT. Due to COVID-19, voters are strongly encouraged to use the vote-by-mail system; ...however, voters also have the option to go to a polling location if they prefer to vote in person today before pools close at 8:00 p.m. The County Elections Division lists four polling locations open in Oakley on Election Day, including the Best Western Plus Delta Inn, Freedom High School, O’Hara Park Middle School and Laurel Ridge Community Church. There will be a free drive-thru food distribution at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 971 O'Hara Avenue this Saturday, October 31st from noon to 2:00 p.m. (please note time change from previous flyers). New for this distribution will be refrigerated items including milk, eggs, and meat as well as produce and non-perishable items. All are welcome, including walk ups, no questions asked and please wear a face covering an observe social distancing. If you need help applying for CalFresh, there will be people at the distribution who can help.
