Alumna and current Citrus College instructor, Vonetta Mixson, talks with Inland Valley Rep Theatre about her background and how the arts helped her. Here are some tidbits from the interview: This is such a delicious time to create. Stop waiting for people to validate you. You’ll spend your life trying to do that. Don’t talk about it be about it.... The arts needs you. Ms. V wants you know that if you’re not tech savvy, this is the time to be brave! Approach the pandemic as a way to learn new tools and new ways to express your art. Citrus has given to the community for so many years. Please continue to support the program and the amazing students, faculty and staff who put their hearts and souls into it!

Shawna choreographed a beautiful lyrical jazz piece Dedicated to her family friend who passed away from a car accident in 2015. This dance took you through her friend's journey of getting to say goodbye to her son and loved ones. The Costumes were beautiful shades of purple, which worked well with the dancers.
