Elevator Pitch Brand Story Workbook Page 11 Think about your vision statement, who you are, what exactly you do, why it is different, and even why you do it. Try to think about this as your elevator pitch to someone who has no clue what you do and you only have a minute to explain it to them... and more than anything, how to peak their interest so they want to learn more about you and what you do.

Tell Your Unique Brand Story Brand Story Workbook Page 10 Take it way back if you have to! Think about the true core of what makes you happy and why you decided to make it into your career and your passion. -- For me, growing up I was creative, beyond detailed in every art project, and even remember thinking to myself long before I knew what my future career was, that I wished PowerPoint presentations, school books, ugly classrooms, and even billboards were all prettier and more visually interesting. -- I always wanted to make the world around me (and others) a more beautiful place.

Your Unique Brand Story Brand Story Workbook Page 9 Before we begin to write out your brand story, let's review your Why statement. Keep this on hand as a reference. This Why should be at the heart of your brand story.... Take the time to brainstorm. Make some bullet points for key aspects you want to cover in the notes section on the bottom of page 9. Then refine that list. What do you need and what can be simplified or removed completely. Select 8 bullet points and write them in the boxes that surround your brand name. Case Study Bridge Previously known as Pennial, came to Citrus to help with a rebrand and website design for a new partnership. They knew that what they currently had would not fulfill the story that they wanted to tell. They wanted to stand out in a way that would help them connect directly to the clients that they were specifically seeking. Through a series of workshops we were able to realize their authenticity in wanting to serve the community with insightful and realatedable financial advising. We wanted them to break out of the box of the traditional suit and tie financial advising and focus on the core. This was where we identified and utilized their conflict. This allowed us to focus all of our energy in telling this one story. The story of family.

What's Your Story? There’s a lot that goes into telling the story. We’ve all had an experience where we’ve maybe left out some key details or were not as clear as we could have been when it came to telling a story. And with any story, the more you tell it the better the story becomes. You realize that some parts can be removed or rearranged to help provide focus and clarity. In a sense your brand story relies on these same principles. Our key focus is to look at the story ...as a whole and then refine it so that it's focused and dynamic. The only way to take a look at your entire story is to write it down. This week's worksheet is centered around this. Just like a good movie, too many ideas can lead your audiences astray. Tomorrow we'll start to expand.

Where can you improve? Brand Story Workbook Page 7 We all have areas of improvement. ... By being open and honest we can identify our blindspots and better serve your audience. When it comes to identifying areas of improvement it's good to ask feedback from your audience. This level of transparency also signals to your audience that their needs are actually being addressed and will improve your ability to continue to provide a high quality and consistent service/ product. There's good news! Once you identify your areas of improvement you can set out to improve and strengthen them. This is a process I like to perform yearly. It allows Citrus to appraise our internal level of improvement. We are constantly striving to provide our partners with best services and practices. To do that we must be open to praise as well as criticism. We love feedback.
