Sacramento U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker today presented Northern California-Sacramento Regional Center for International Trade Development with the President’s E Star Award for Export Service at a ceremony in Washington, DC. The President’s E Award is the highest recognition any U.S. entity can receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports. Sacramento CITD has demonstrated a sustained commitment to export expansion. The "E..." Awards Committee was very impressed with Sacramento CITD's innovation in development of training materials and courses to help businesses better understand the intricacies of the export process. The organization's support and outreach to rural communities was also particularly notable. Sacramento CITD's achievements have undoubtedly contributed to national export expansion efforts that support the U.S. economy and create American jobs, said Secretary Pritzker in her congratulatory letter to the company announcing its selection as an award recipient. Northern California-Sacramento Regional Center for International Trade Development, located in Sacramento, California, which operates within the Los Rios Community College District, is a provider of export services for small and medium-sized U.S. businesses, including freight forwarding, export counseling, exporting financing, strategic planning, and more. This prestigious national award illustrates the commitment Los Rios Community College District shares with our community in reaching the economic development growth goals of our Capital Region Prosperity Plan’s Next Economy, said Brooks Ohlson, Director at Northern California-Sacramento Regional Center for the International Development.
