Still one of the great unknowns on the Channel Islands National Park is the secretive, nocturnal island spotted skunk. Weighing in at a robust 1 pound, it only occurs on Santa Cruz and Santa Rosa Islands. Smelled much more than seen, they are one of the cuter critters on the windswept archipelago as they stomp around their island habitat. Photo and description by Chuck Graham
