"But by the Grace of God..." - There are times when, as a photographer, things aren't 'just right' or I get into a creative slump or rut. But I don't get discouraged, I am not a saint. I can still hear my grandmother and mothers voices telling me "Take the lemons and make your lemonade" So I find the beauty in life. Whether it be in a plant, a landscape, or a person. I do what I do. My trip to Wyoming was supposed to be beautifully clear and it was just the opposite. Out o...f nine days there, seven were completely covered in smoke from fires burning in Oregon and Idaho. I had to adapt, adjust to the elements, and capture some beauty. Enjoy FB fam and glad to be back home. Oh, and my 2021 Calendars will be available soon!! "Bowling Anyone?" - Even in this pandemic I find ways to not be around people when I shoot and in a place where it is quiet and the only sounds are those of nature and I love it. This place, is called "Bowling Ball Beach" and is located just a few miles south of Point Arena, CA on highway 1. The bowling ball shaped rocks can only be viewed at low tide so you have to know when to go or chances are you won't even see them. During this shoot only two other people showed up on t...he beach and they were so far away that... Enjoy it as much as you can while you can. There's enough hate so I'm passing the love around. Much Love to you all. www.ChuckHarlinsPhotography.com #ChuckHarlinsPhotography, #PointArenaCA, #BowlingBallBeach, #NorthernCaliforniaBeaches, #Seascapes

"Nighttime in The Land of Tufa" - Despite all of the "stuff" going on in my life I took some time away to do some Astrophotography, (photography of Astronomical objects) aka some stars and sh!+ . Anyway while I was shooting out in the dark for a few hours I was fighting these humungous flying bugs that like to buzz around your ear and sometimes land on you (they reminded me of Cicadas). Kinda was getting on my nerves but as it got later and cooler they disappeared. This is ...my really first serious attempt at this type of photography and I am pleased with the outcome. Enjoy my friends! Location - Mono Lake, California www.ChuckHarlinsPhotography.com #ChuckHarlinsPhotography #AstroPhotography #MonoLake #MilkyWay#Tufasatnight #NightPhotography

"Desert Life by Chuck" - Please take some time to enjoy the Desert scenes I have photographed over a period of time. Since sheltering in place, and by popular demand, I have decided to put together another slide show of one of my favorite places - the southwestern United States. It has a spiritual connection with me since my first visit and I will keep on returning to its beauty. So, if you feel like it sit back and take about 8 minutes of your time and enjoy it, share it, an...d let's make the best of this time. Much love to you all! "Seascapes by Chuck" - Please take some time to enjoy the ocean scenes I have photographed over a long period of time. Since sheltering in place I have decided to put together a slide show of one of my favorite places, the coast. It has given me stunning moments of beauty, and, almost took my life. I have a healthy respect for its power and even more its beauty. So, if you feel like it sit back and take about 8 minutes of your time and enjoy it, share it, and let's make the ...best of this time. Much love to you all! "Coastal Beauty" - I found the time to grab my gear and head to the coast. Between San Francisco and Santa Cruz there are so many beautiful spots to photograph. I love this particular place because my brother Peter and I used to hike around here before he made his transition. Side note! If you missed my opening night with Art of the African Diaspora at Jingletown Art Studios then come on out on either March 7th, 8th or the 13th-15th.

"A cool wintry eve" - With a light dusting of snow and few people in the park it really is a nice place to be. I've been going to this place since I was a kid and now I reserve my visiting times to between October-April and still not on the weekends if I can help it. When it gets crowded here it is crazy! But I cannot deny its magnificence. Enjoy my FB fam! Location - Yosemite National Park... #ChuckHarlinsPhotography #YosemiteNationalPark #NationalParks

The overpass - I can’t make these scenes up. Every now and then I just get in my car at night and start driving around to see what I can capture with my camera. On this particular night it was a little cool with a slight breeze. The first time I drove under this overpass I glanced over my left shoulder and saw someone sleeping on the ground. The whole scene didn’t register with me until about 3 blocks later and then I quickly make a wide 3-block circle to get back to where... I saw him sleeping. Once there I stayed in my car, across the street from where he was laying, made my camera settings, I and pointed the the lens out the window and started clicking away. I couldn’t believe the good quality of light in the overpass. When I just glance at this image I almost miss the person sleeping in the sleeping bag. The mural is that of the bottom of the ocean floor. The images storyline is very interesting because to me he’s at the bottom of the ocean, sea, or some body of water. This image is for sale and will be on display at an upcoming art show. Thanks and enjoy! #ChuckHarlinsPhotography, #HomelessArt, #StreetPhotography, www.ChuckHarlinsPhotography.com

Shipwreck This image was taken while I was on my way home from a sunset photo shoot at Point Reyes National Seashore. It is an iconic shot and one that is in many a photographers repertoire. And the one thing that makes this iconic shot unique is the surrounding weather conditions. On this particular night the city lights from Bodega Bay and other local coastal cities were reflecting city lights off of the bottom of the clouds and it created a beautiful soft color. And, a...s you can see, at the edge of the clouds are the stars. I loved the combination. On most nights when the clouds do come in they are low and light is dull or nothing or it is even foggy. I do hope you enjoy it and of course copies are for sale. Just visit wwww.ChuckHarlinsPhotography.com and contact me for inquiries. Have a wonderful day!! #ChuckHarlinsPhotography, #NightPhotography, #Shipwreck, #LandscapePhotography, #InvernessCa,

"My friend, let's take a walk this eve" - While on a short backpacking trip I discovered this quaint winding road through a grove of redwoods. It was close to sunset and the light was that soft beautiful glow and it only lasted about 2 minutes. One of my favorites and I hope you enjoy.
