"Recently, I was fortunate enough to partake in the Russian Strength Seminar, a good perk of working for Juggernaut Training Systems. The Russian Strength Seminar was led by Boris Sheiko and Mikhail Misha Koklyaev. Sheiko is an extremely decorated powerlifting coach who has coached 39 world champions, including Krill Sarychev who is a surefire record holder of the raw bench title with his current PR at 719 pounds at 23 years old. Misha was honored as being Russians stron...gest lifter after his storied strength career in Olympic Weightlifting, Strongman and Powerlifting. His best snatch is 210kg and best Clean & Jerk at 252kg. He holds the Russian National deadlift record at 417.5 kilograms (920 pounds). To say the least, these are guys you want to be learning from." - See more at: http://www.jtsstrength.com//what-i-learned-at-the-russia/ See more

"When I am working with an athlete, one of my main focuses is always consistency. You must be consistent in weightlifting. Your technique has to be consistent as well as you being able to hit a certain weight. Being consistent means you can come into the gym everyday and hit the same numbers you hit previously, if needed. I used to train with some guys that would come in one day and snatch 165kg but then a week later they were missing 140kg. That is not what we want. Lets work on consistency today guys. Try to make every rep look the same as the last one, if not better."- Vardanian Weightlifting

Upper Body Plyometric Tutorial Most athlete know about lower body plyometrics but you can also do plyometrics to build explosive power in the upper body as well. Before athletes get into the most intense upper body plyometric exercises they first need to learn how to absorb impact and control their bodies. The first exercise shown, box drops, will help athletes with control and learn how to absorb impact with long, quite and controlled landings. Once the athlete has mastered... box drops (duration depends on athlete's preparedness) they can move onto box push-ups. Once the athlete has mastered box push-ups and can land softly they can add height as a progression. The last exercise in the series is a rebound push-up and is reserved only for athletes who have mastered the exercises beforehand with proficiency. Sets and reps: Box Drops 4-5 sets of 5 reps Box Push-ups 4-5 sets of 3-5 reps Rebound Box Push-ups 4-6 sets of 2-3 reps *Make sure you give yourself ample rest between sets. "Every training exercise that we do is just a guess that it will make us better at our sport. Obviously there are some exercises that seem to have a higher transfer to better performance on the field, court, track, mat, ice, etc but coaches take it way to far without understanding the why behind their exercise selection. What happens, due to the lack of understanding and knowledge, is the current state we find ourselves in with coaches prescribing a bunch of bullcrap exercises for athletes because they are FUNCTIONAL and SPORT SPECIFIC. Based on what is going on in the field I felt the need to share the information in the links below presented by some of the top level coaches in the field." Conditioning for athletics is one of the most confused aspects of training across the board. The science coaches use tends to be either 1) This is what I did o...r 2) This is really hard so lets do it. Every sport is different in terms of energy system demands yet almost all coaches condition their athletes the same regardless of sport. Why would a baseball player condition the same as a wrestler? Why would a soccer player condition the same as a football player? Why would a volleyball player condition the same as a rugby player? Some sports are stop and go sports (football for example-go for 4-6 seconds rest for 30 seconds), some are more continuous like basketball, but if you looked at the two sports conditioning before the season you wouldn't notice much difference in the way they condition. 7 Speed Tips 1. Don't expect to become fast in one week or month. Speed is extremely hard to develop, not impossible. Most people will say it is impossible be...cause they don't work hard. 2. Read everything Charlie Francis has ever written. 3. Spend the money and actually buy his books and MP3 files. 4. Speed work should be developed year round and not just the month before the off-season. 5. Drills can be very useful for athletes to develop speed but the drill needs to be specific to the athlete and situation. You can be doing the best drill in the world and it won't do a darn if it isn't specific to you and your needs. 6. If you move your arms faster your legs will move faster. If your legs move faster you move faster. 7. Relaxation is critical for speed training. This concept can only be understood once an athlete experiences it. We hope you have enjoyed this week of speed tips. What would you like us to discuss next week? #deadlift #conditioning #fatloss #musclegain #nutrition #cleanandjerk #snatch

7 Random Bench Thoughts 1. Mix up your grip during your work sets to build strength in different positions. 2. If your bench is stuck and won't improve odds a...re you need to follow an actual program and don't need new exercises. 3. The best exercise to increase you bench is the bench. 4. The second best exercise to increase you bench is another form of the bench (narrow grip, pause bench, narrow grip incline, floor press). 5. If you want to have a big bench you need to stay balanced in your pressing and pulling muscles. 6. Take care of your shoulders by stretching them and doing pre-hab exercises every time you do upper body. 7. If you suck at push-ups DO THEM! If you are decent at them start including weighted push-ups in towards the end of your routine. See more

7 Sprint Tips 1. If you are the average american athlete your running form sucks. 2. Getting a speed coach is the only way you will improve your technique. 3.... Sprint 3 times per week until you are fast; giving yourself 1 day rest between sprint sessions. 4. Start your off-season by doing 6 weeks of hill work. 5. Team sport athletes should be doing the large majority of their speed work in the 10-30 yard range. 6. Use proper rest intervals between sets and reps. 20-30 seconds for every 10 yards is a general rule of thumb. So if you ran a 30 yard sprint you would take 60-90 seconds rest before the next sprint. 20 yards would be 40-60 sec. 7. Use sets and reps when doing your speed work and don't just do 20 sprints non-stop. This would be a good example for speed work: Week 1 4x5, Week 2 4x4, Week 3 5x3. Rest 3-5 minutes between sets. "Athletes typically follow a program centered around building strength OR increasing your vertical OR packing on muscle OR increasing speed OR getting you in gr...eat condition. The truth of the matter is that athletes need to develop all of these qualities and not just one. It is problematic for an athlete to just follow a program that only focuses on one physical quality." AMEN "It’s too easy to become a coach, especially in this country. Because the barrier of entry is so low, I don’t think people truly understand what it takes to become a good coach. You can go to a weekend, pass a test, and be called coach. In other countries, being called coach is an honor; it’s like being called doctor or lawyer. It’s a huge accomplishment. It takes years. In Russia and some of the Eastern Bloc countries it takes six, seven years to actually be designated... a coach. So I think just respecting the profession, not dishonoring it by just spouting your opinions on things. Have some grounds. If somebody asks you why you’re doing something with an athlete, you should always be able to answer that question. You should never do anything just because. And if you can’t answer why on anything you do then you need to either not do that or go learn why." Sean Waxman See more

Working with Keith was one of the best things I have ever done with my life. He put me on the fast track to living healthy, all the while making and hitting several of my weight lifting goals. I gained 20 pounds, getting to 205 using Keith’s End Line Training method. I went from a max of 235 to 305 on bench, and nearly added 100 pounds to my squat and deadlift maxes as well. Getting to know keith on a personal level as a friend, and as my physical preparation coach was by far the best thing I could have done for myself in college. -Jesse Mossell- Online Client If you want to become an online client please send us a message today.

I played football with Keith at Western Illinois so I’ve gotten to know him on a personal level. Everything he does with his programs and work is done with so ...much passion. I’ve never met someone who cared so much about what they are doing. When I finished playing football I was 330 lbs. I got onto Keith’s program weighing in at 310. At the end of my 12-week workout I weighed in at 245. All I did was follow his program and I didn’t take short cuts. I couldn’t believe that I did that well. Keith knows what he is doing. If you give the man a chance follow his workout then you will undoubtedly see results. Any time that I had a question I could just text him and he would answer me. I could text him at 3 in the morning; chances are he would answer if it was important. No matter what the question was even if it was stupid he answered with great detail. I’m currently starting another 12 week program from Keith and I can’t wait to see the results this time around. "I think it’s important for young lifters to do a lot of lifts and really form that strong technical base first. I’m constantly holding them back from lifting max attempts, because I think if you’re not technically sound, your ceiling of improvement is going to be lower if you’re pushing too heavy too soon. When you lift a max attempt you go to your default motor patterns, it’s like fight or flight, it’s a reaction. If your default is something incorrect then that’s what you’re going to do all the time when you’re lifting a heavy weight."--Sean Waxman

Cecily Basques teaching the clean at the End Line U Seminar Thanks to everyone who came out to CrossFit Demolition today. Hope to do it again in the future. End Line Training Systems

CHS Strength 14.07.2019

This seminar is for the beginner to the advanced athlete looking to improve their strength and learn how to do it in a safe and efficient manner. Technique is paramount in building strength because the lifts that yield the most benefits require proper skill to be able to adequately express strength. Many people having been squatting or cleaning for years with subpar technique that once fixed can lead to massive PR's and allow them to train harder than before. Most athletes ar...e required to perform the clean and squat with their teams in training, but their coaches do not have the proper education to teach them proper technique which leads to injury or lack of improvement. This is a great opportunity for athletes who are new to lifting to learn how to perform the lifts correctly from the get go to avoid injury and reap the benefits of increased strength for their sport. ****We encourage coaches to come to learn and take back the system we use in developing technique and building strength for athletes. The seminar is going to cover the following topics in both lecture and hands on work: Program Design Mobility/Breathing Building the Clean Building the Squat The coaches that will be helping with the seminar are University Educated with backgrounds in Exercise Science and Strength and Conditioning who have real world experience and have helped hundreds of athletes achieve proper technique and hit PR's. Some of the coaches that will be there are Keith Enerlein and Cecily Basques. Cost to attend this great seminar and learn from coaches at the top of the industry is only $40. http://endlinetraining.com/products/ For more information contact Keith Enderlein at (209)419-0497.
