Our last film, Discover Parque Futangue is officially on the CIFFT Festival Circuit 2020. CIFFT is the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals and they recognize, reward and celebrate the best Travel Films in the World. After our previous tourism film, Quito My Story, was nominated and won in several of the film festivals, Discover Parque Futangue takes over on 2020. Today we celebrate the World Tourism Day. Since 1980 the United Nations World Tourism Organization has celebrated World Tourism Day as international observances on September 27th. This year’s host country is India. This initiative is an effort from the UN to celebrate and impulse tourism around the globe. While working in South East Asia, one of the main things we wanted to capture, was the spirituality. Today, we live in a highly connected world, and somehow that has made it harder to connect with the people around us and with ourselves. Every time we went to these remote buddhist temples, without reception, we felt privileged to be more in tuned to the people and the environment. Back in 2012, our team was behind the production of the international TV show Mundo Ad Portas, which took us around the world to more than 15 countries, including Jordan in the Middle East. One of the most iconic places we filmed, was Petra. The power of tourism as an economic tool to preserve one of the seven wonders of the world is key to take care of our history. We also believe that travelers have a strong responsibility to take care of these places, like leaving them as ...they are, avoid touching the ruins, and not taking samples home. As tourism grows, the better understanding of cultures around the world is essential to preserving these monuments for future generations.
