Saddle-Lock Hidden Clasp The clasp on #7 is coming from mesial and grabbing the distal buccal undercut with a distal rest and guideplane coming from the saddle area that is unattached to the clasp. This works well when a back action clasp is needed for aesthetics, but only has a distal rest prep on the tooth.

On this frame, the patient and doctor did not want any palatal coverage, so we used a light weight metal (Wironium) and lingual plated all remaining teeth and kept edentulous areas at ridge.

We used a double palatal strap (also called anterior/posterior bar) because the anterior teeth were weak on this upper. The Kennedy bar was added to #7-10 to give it good periodontal support. This frame turned out to be very lightweight and comfortable for the patient. Also, with the back action clasping (hidden clasps), the aesthetics are great.
