Today we fly home after two weeks in Paradise. 2020 has been a lot of ups and downswe didn’t have the wedding we had originally planned and we waited a long time to get away for our honeymoon. We were so happy to have this special time together in Hawaiimostly everything was open on the island, but still pretty quiet. We enjoyed the secluded hikes and empty beaches. This puppy will be raised by Birds! Our State Farm family is excited about the upcoming arrival of Canine Companions for Independence support puppy-in-training, Tavi though none more so than Robin and Tony Bird! Robin, a State Farm Claims Team Manager and Tony, a State Farm Claims Section Manager, were selected from an amazing group of employees who volunteered to raise Tavi and help him throughout his training program. Recent empty nesters, the Birds are excited to be able... to give back in such a unique way. They are a family of dog lovers who promise to also act as the pup-arazzi for Tavi throughout this adventure. Tony and Robin have been asked many questions about this opportunity, but by far the most common has been around raising Tavi, knowing they will eventually need to give him up. Tony says, "We know this will be the most challenging step in the journey, but it means a lot to be a small part of the work State Farm and Canine Companions are doing to help provide for this need in our society."
