The summer slips by quickly, we have some wonderful guests as they vacation in this beautiful place we sometimes take for granted. A good reminder of our blessings right out in front of us every day. This past few weeks have reminded us of the great need and power of intercessory prayer for our people, our communities, our country and our world. We are daily made aware of strife and division in our American people, and are reminded of the evils that surround us. We pray for G...od's help and now that help is on the way. Thank you to faithful members and friends who help make this church a house of prayer, healing, and love. And, most of all, our unity and community life is strengthened by the Word of God and the Gospel Sacraments, taught and observed faithfully according to our Lord's commands.Everything good thing springs from this. Monk, Professor, Catholic and Evangelical Reformer. Dr. Martin Luther. He set out to find God's grace, but couldn't find it. However, He had one of those greatly defining moments when he realized that God had already sought him out in Baptism and had forgiven him of all his sins long before he was born. His role in what is called the Reformation (16th century) was purely accidental on his part, but to God, it happened as He planned. As Lutherans we honor this old brother in the faith, but see him as merely a voice and face of Christ as is any Christian, no matter the visible results.

The summer season in this beautiful vacation spot brings visitors who take time from travel, camping, or watersports to drink from the Springs of Living Water offered at this church. Everyone is welcome. If you are unfamiliar with historical Lutheranism, no worries. Just come and observe. Feel free to ask an usher for directions. Whatever the case, please come. We are made richer by your attendance. As a small parish in rural Siskiyou County, CA, we know how rare authentic Bi...ble teaching and preaching can be. Holy Communion is, with few exceptions, celebrated on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. I you are not a regular communicant at this church, but wish to receive this sacrament, please indicate so to the Usher before the service begins, so that you can be introduced to the Pastor. Private Confession and Absolution are offered by appointment. This powerful gift of spiritual and emotional healing is yours for the asking. It can be scheduled at the church, or in a home or other private setting. Summer brings the Marriage celebrations, Wedding anniversaries, graduations, confirmations and other major benchmarks in the lives of God's people. Please pray that all who celebrate these times will grow in the grace of their new beginnings in Christ. We are in a remote and quiet setting, but our people are in connection with an entire global Christian community. We help to support missions, seminary students, persecuted Christians by our gifts and our prayers. You are invited to be part of this. Also, our congregation prays for our local communities and our friends and neighbors who are suffering grief, illness, depression, or loss.
