The BV1000 sportster had a successful debut! Rider Keoki Kaolelopono was able to achieve a personal best of 144.486mph on a 139mph record his first time ever land speed racing at Bonneville, showing great skill at handling the unpredictable surface on the salt and coming within 2mph of the fastest run in his class. Then disaster struck and a hole blew in the piston, sending pieces of aluminum into the oil pump. The crew got to work and replaced the piston and installed a new ...oil pump courtesy of our good friends at NRHS Performance . After a few more attempts to up the speed the engine experienced another failure ultimately ending our efforts for this year.
