We are partnering with CHP Golden Gate Division to participate in our "Saturation Saturday" event this coming Saturday, February 13th. This effort aims to reduce speeding and reckless driving as well as taking impaired drivers off the road along Interstate 80 from San Francisco, Calif. to the California/Nevada Stateline on Saturday, February 13, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This will be accomplished by enhancing traffic safety, enforcement, and education along this... section of Interstate 80. This effort is intended to educate and if necessary use enforcement to help keep our roadways safe from these dangerous drivers. We want to remind motorists to follow these basic traffic safety rules: always wear a seat belt, drive at a speed safe for conditions, eliminate distractions while driving, and always designate a sober driver. #chpvalleydivision #ValleyDivision #CHP

CHP - Valley Division Air Operations is a great help at assisting us in apprehending participants involved in sideshow events. These events are dangerous and illegal. If at any time you observe or witness a sideshow or illegal racing activity involving large groups like this, please keep your distance and dial 9-1-1.

It’s the time of year when the party animal comes out. Please, celebrate responsibly and remember to designate a driver. Also, buzzed driving is drunk driving. Have fun but plan on how to make it home safely. @maddcalifornia @chp_valleydivision @sacpolice @sacsheriff @drivetoarrive @safeandsoberorg @caltransdist3 @dontdrinkand.drive @chpcareers

These cute puppies were found in the front seat of a SUV that was involved in a collision where the driver was arrested for DUI. Remember drinking and driving is illegal, unsafe to you and your loved ones, as well as those on the road with you. Make the smart choice and don’t get behind the wheel if you’ve been drinking. We will find you and your puppies too. @maddcalifornia @chp_valleydivision @sacpolice @sacsheriff @drive_sober @the_cap_center @sacramento_fire

CHP NORTH SACRAMENTO AREA OFFERS FREE START SMART CLASS THIS AFTERNOON The leading cause of death for Americans 15-20 years old is motor vehicle collisions. In an effort to inform and to reduce motor vehicle collisions in California, California Highway Patrol (CHP) North Sacramento area will offer a free Start Smart class. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), mile for mile, teenagers are involved in three times as many fatal crashes as al...l other drivers. Recent collisions involving teenagers in our area demonstrate the importance of these types of classes. The classes are used to promote traffic safety to both parents and teens. We encourage both parent/caregivers and teens to attend the class. The CHP's Start Smart program is a driver safety education class which targets new and future licensed teenage drivers between the age of 15 -19 and their parents/guardians. The Start Smart class will cover collision avoidance techniques, driver responsibility, collision trends, distracted driving laws, alcohol related driving laws and the provisional license process. The program also offers an opportunity for new drivers and parents/guardians to ask CHP Officers clarifying questions. The class incorporates videos and classroom discussion. North Sacramento CHP will be offering this free class TODAY, October 9, 2020 at 2:30 PM The class will be held via an online Zoom presentation. Persons interested in signing up for the class will need to register for the class by sending an email of interest to Officer A.J. McTaggart at [email protected]. It is highly encouraged that at least one parent/guardian attend the class with their teen driver. Funding for CHP’s Start Smart programs is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through NHTSA. **Full disclosure: We understand this class is SUPER last minute. However, we have been receiving multiple calls regarding teens requiring this class for an upcoming deadline. Other classes will become available within the next coming weeks, this one is to address several concerns about upcoming deadlines** #nhtsagov #officeoftrafficsafety #startsmart #freeclass #freeclasses #chpnorthsac #californiahighwaypatrol

Officer Ruiz found this high speed vehicle and wanted to thank the driver for taking the proper safety precautions as well as sharing some driving tips for taking the proper apex into those corners. We love having these conversations and look forward to meeting people every day, especially if there are smiles all around. Enjoy the road little one. @chp_valleydivision @chpnorthsac @drivesafe @safekidsgreatersacramento @sacpolice @sacmetrofire @gooutandplay @startsmart

**NORTH SAC FOLLOWERS!!** ... we need your help! On 8/30/2020 at about 9:00 pm a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision occurred on El Camino Avenue eastbound, just east of Darwin Street (the closest main street would be Howe Avenue). The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision, however the suspect vehicle fled from El Camino Avenue onto southbound Howe Avenue. We are looking for any information on the suspect vehicle which we believe to be a Dodge Ram 1500... quad cab, between the make years of 2013-2018, it should have a short bed, chrome mirrors, silver/chrome wheels, and chrome lower bumper (similar to the above photo). The pickup truck will have significant damage to the right (passenger) front headlight and bumper. Any information can be forwarded to the @chpnorthsac area office at (916)438-2300 or (916)798-0975 or via email at [email protected] @sacpolice @sacsheriff @placer_sheriff @chp_valleydivision @chp_southsacramento @chp_auburn @chpyubasutter @valleycrimestoppers #valleycrimestoppers #chpnorthsac #chpvalleydivision #chpsouthsacramento #chpauburn #chpwoodland #yubasutterchp #sacpd #sacramentopolicedepartment #sacramentopolice #sacramentosheriffsdepartment #sacramentosheriff #hitandrun See more

Lately (and quite typically during the summer months), we get MANY calls of street racing, side shows, and overall mischief involving vehicles in groups. We want the public to know, we are very aware of the situation throughout the North Sacramento Area. Not only are we aware of it, we make sure to cite, arrest, and in many cases 30-day impound vehicles involved in these types of activities. Over this last weekend, officers made multiple stops, cited many drivers, and impounded several vehicles in the Watt Avenue near Elverta Road area. #chpnorthsac #californiahighwaypatrol #streetracing #sideshows #wewillfindyou #30dayimpound #notworthit
