SPEED STOP YIELDS STOLEN CAR & GUN Recently our Officers made a speeding enforcement stop on a Dodge sedan traveling at a high rate of speed on I-80 westbound at Willow Avenue. The vehicle returned as stolen and a concealed semi-automatic hand gun was located inside. The 21yr old male driver was compliant but was subsequently detained and arrested. There is no such thing as a ‘Routine’ stop.

CHP VEHICLE HIT IN CONSTRUCTION ZONE This is literally a picture of Safety, Service, & Security, what we strive to provide each and every day. Thankfully our Officer only sustained minor injuries. This happened last night in a construction zone on #hwy4 eastbound at I-680 when one of our Officers was within the construction zone with full CHP lights on to alert oncoming traffic and protect the workers ahead doing road work. The fleeing suspect vehicle was pursued by one of o...ur local allied agencies (Martinez Police Department) and drove erratically to evade the pursuing police units and into the coned off construction zone, crashing into the back of our CHP officer. The Officers on scene quickly rendered aid and handled the suspect and the entire incident. Thank you. (Refer to Martinez Police Department for suspect/incident information). We are so thankful our Officer only suffered minor injuries, when it could have been far worse. Imagine this,... what could’ve happened if our Officer wasn’t there?? Maybe that evading suspect driver would’ve crashed into or killed CalTrans workers that were just there doing their job? Might seem insignificant to some or not the attention grabbing headlines of main stream news, but it is very significant to us. We take our #safety #service & #security to the public very seriously. #chp #neverswervefromthepathofduty
