Today we honored and thanked ICC's Office Technician, Kris Philippon. Kris is responsible for all of the center's timekeeping, tracking, filing, benefits, and a myriad of other duties. ICC suffered a tremendous loss yesterday with the sudden passing of our dear friend and coworker, PSD Brandi Palmowski, #A12120. Brandi was recovering from heart surgery at the time of her death, which came as a shock to everyone in our Center. She was a member of the CHP family for over 20 years, serving 15 years at ICC. Brandi will be remembered as one of our pillars who was a mother-figure at ICC and who’s selfless dedication was unparalleled. She was our Union Stewa...rd, Care Club chairman and snack-bar coordinator. We enjoyed many wonderful Holiday parties which Brandi organized. Any time tragedy struck our CHP family members, she was passing out cards to be signed and arranging for flowers and gifts. Brandi always made it a point to give more of herself than she ever expected in return. Her untimely passing leaves a big hole in our hearts which can never be filled, and she will be missed tremendously. See more

On April 15, 2020, ICC Staff and Dispatchers participated in a multi-agency teleconference with Congresswoman Norma Torres to discuss issues that communication centers are facing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Congresswoman Torres, a former dispatcher herself, is very supportive of our dispatch community and we appreciate the opportunity to share our concerns with her.

Some infromation regarding CHP and the COVID-19 pandemic: 1. Q: How is the CHP enforcing the Governor’s statewide order to stay at home?... A: The governor is not asking law enforcement to enforce the statewide stay at home order. In an effort to preserve public health and safety of all Californians, the hope is that people will self-regulate their behavior and home isolate, protect themselves, and go about only the essential activities using social distancing and common sense. Read the Stay at Home Order from the Governor: https://www.gov.ca.gov//3.19.20-attested-EO-N-33-20-COVID- 2. Q: What is there to say to people are who concerned that they may be pulled over by CHP when they are driving around town? What will officers be looking out for? A: The mission of the CHP is unchanged. The CHP continues to patrol throughout California, respond to all traffic collisions, provide services to motorists, and take the appropriate enforcement action when a violation is observed. As always, motorists should obey traffic laws and not drive distracted or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
