The City of Chino Hills will open a Cooling Center for Chino Hills residents on Friday, September 4; Sunday, September 6; and on Monday, September 7 (Labor Day) because of the lack of air-conditioned facilities available during the current COVID-19 closures. According to the National Weather Service, record-breaking heat of 105 115 degrees is expected for the Inland Empire. Chino Hills residents are welcome at the McCoy Equestrian & Recreation Center, 14280 Peyton Drive, fr...om 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Visitors must undergo a non-contact wellness check, sign a waiver, and wear a face covering. Members of the same household may sit together. Minors must be accompanied by a guardian at all times. Pets are not allowed. Capacity is limited due to COVID-19 safety precautions in place. Please call (909) 364-2700 for any questions. The James S. Thalman Chino Hills Branch Library is identified as a cooling center during regular hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm; and Saturday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
