Two years after experiencing extreme loss in the Camp Fire, survivors continue to settle into new homes across the countrywith nearly 1 in 10 living in zones with high potential for new fires, research shows. A team of Chico State researchers has been studying the initial movements of those displaced by the blaze, as well as where they are now. Their findings, they say, are revealing. https://today.csuchico.edu/mapping-lab-looks-closer/

Halloween weekend is approaching, and campus representatives have shared some important advice to help keep you and your peers safe this spooky season. The impa...ct of COVID-19 means our community will have to celebrate Halloween a little differently this year. We encourage Wildcats to rise to the challenge and avoid large gatherings. Instead, be creative with how you celebrate by gathering virtually or with roommates. Butte County has made progress in reopening and limiting the spread of COVID-19, and it's critical to do your part so we don't backtrack on the progress our community has already made. If you see something inappropriate or dangerous, speak up and call 911. It's important to keep our Wildcat family safe and take care of each other. The greatest thing we can do in this time is continuing to make progress on the pandemic and turning towards a more normal life. Stay safe this Halloween, Wildcats!
