Chiarito 09 Nero D'Avola wins Double Gold at the Mendocino County Wine Competition! Petite Sirah and Negroamaro win silver medals.

One of the most recent projects at Chiarito Vineyard has been growing wheat around the edge of the westside vineyard on Lover's Lane. John planted a hard red winter wheat on the vineyard's boundary and harvested last month with Doug Mosel and John Gramke of the the Mendocino Grain Project. With 300 lbs of harvested wheat, John will use the resulting flour for making bread and pizza dough. We have a short film by Flora Skivington to share with you:

Chiarito 09 Nero D'Avola & 09 Negroamaro just won gold medals in the 2012 Sunset International Wine Competition! The results will be announced in the November issue of Sunset Magazine, but we couldn't wait to share the good news!
