INSPIRATIONAL SUNDAY

It's Thursday.... THRIVE! GO FOR IT How many times have you told yourself, "I'll wait till the kids get older to...."... My favorite "excuse" was waiting until the kids got older. One day I realized that I didn't have to give up being a mother in order to go after what I wanted to accomplish in life. Sometimes as Women, we tend to look at what we will lose instead of what we will gain. We put off things until.... Until becomes too late. You want to do something new, go for it.

SELF-CARE 2021 Ladies, how did you do in 2020 with taking care of yourself? As I look back and reflect on my own personal self care, I took the time to go within and meditate and get my mind right in order to deal with what was going on, but I must confess, I neglected a lot of me. I am one for taking care of my body, my skin, my hair, my looks, and I get mani/pedi's on the regular. That did not happen. I ate more and exercised less. I wasn't going anywhere so I showered, di...d my hair and changed clothes when I felt like it (Don't judge, you probably did the same if you stayed at home). I was looking homeless and ill, and I wasn't. It took over my mind and I was in a funk. Well, in 2021, I've decided to dress up even if I'm not going anywhere. I found that when you get in the habit of not taking care of you and doing what makes you feel good, it effects your state of mind and overall well-being. Do your remember as a little girl when you would play dress up or pretend, whatever you want to call it, and how good it made you feel. You would just look at yourself in the mirror knowing you were not going anywhere, but it set a mood. It made you feel good about yourself, you smiled, and spun around in circles. That is the self-care moment I want you to carry throughout 2021. It is absolutely crucial for your mental health. My state is probably headed for another shut down (Geez Cali), but I be damned if I allow myself to neglect myself again. I am going to get dressed up, put on my heels, and do whatever , even if I go nowhere. Hope you do too!
