Che Café Collective 09.11.2020

Hello Che Cafe Community, A 17-year-old child in our community has come forward about experiencing boundary-crossing correspondence with one of our core members, Danny, a 30 year old man. Out of respect for this community member's privacy, we will not be sharing her name or additional details at this time. We respect and affirm her right to share her story as she chooses in her process of healing. We are committed to finding a path forward to support this member of our commun...ity. Danny has stepped down from his core status per the wishes of this community member and the Che Cafe collective. We would like to reiterate our commitment to our safe(r) space policy, and we are doing everything in our power to uphold our ideals and provide a safe environment for everyone. As a collective, we are working on revising our safe space policy and on practicing meaningful accountability. We will keep the community updated through future posts regarding this commitment, and if you have any questions or thoughts, please contact us.

Boosting a great zine by @mpd_150 Original text: "mpd_150 This FAQ zine has consistently been one of the best tools for sparking conversations about a police-free future. Find a printable version of the zine now at our website, in the frequently asked questions tab. Feel free to share. Also, please note that this zine is less than a thousand words long- it’s just framing the overall argument, not giving you all the answers. Please check out the resources page at our website for a big collection of more in-depth research and commentary on what this would actually look like in practice, how harm might be addressed without police, and how we can keep each other safe. #blacklivesmatter "

If there is anything we as a space can do to support organizers of these events please do not hesitate to ask. We want to stand up and be there for you as best we can... .
