Paix Sur Terre Winery Paso Robles has been prized with the opening of Paix Sur Terre Winery. Owners Ryan and Nichole Pease are not new to the wine business. Ryan is the Winemaker for Grey Wolf Cellars. Until recently Nicole was the Operations Manager for McPrice Myers. Their focused hard work has paid off! Reaping accolades prior to their opening, last December their 2015 100% Monastrella The Golden Road, received a 95 from Wine Enthusiast. Named with a nod towards their o...wn chosen path, and as with many of their labels a Grateful Dead tribute. Paix Sur Terre is French for Peace on Earth. Trying to play off their last name (Pease), Ryan’s Dad came up with the name for one of Ryan’s college projects. But it didn’t translate very well. Ryan then found Paix Sur Terre. They thought it was so great they immediately trademarked the name. To quote Nichole,We feel our winery is our little bit of Peace on Earth which is why the name works so well for us. Why the unique labels? Ryan had the idea to have art on the label so our bottles would be more like centerpieces on the table. We wanted the wine and the bottle to be a conversation piece. The artist is Jon Blythe, a childhood friend of Ryan’s, and he creates a new piece of art for each wine each vintage. You can find his bio here: https://www.paixsurterrewines.com/Artist. On to Pasolivo for some Rosemary Olive oil and Cyprus black salt. Ran into Sal from Central Coast Jeep Tours taking his clients for a tasting. Always nice to run into someone in the neighborhood.
