"Dr. Radesky stressed that 'what’s really hard about this moment, is that all of these tools that weren’t designed optimally for young learners and young brains are being rapidly implemented at a time when parents have the least amount of mental space to help their children navigate it.' Ultimately, her advice to parents is to 'do what you can to stay sane and to feel like you’re maintaining some connection with your kids.' That’s what’ll help us all through this." Not a great title for the article, but it contains some useful tips for parents.

"Millions of parents were already burned out by the demands of pandemic child-rearing in April. Summer, with school out and many camps closed, brought no relief. Then came fall, with many parents juggling the ins and outs of remote learning and a staggering 865,000 women, many of them moms, dropping out of the workforce. Now it’s December, and parents are still in the same situation they were thrust into nine months ago: trying to balance work, child care, education, and keeping their families safe as a pandemic rages virtually unchecked around them."

"As a society, we still tend to overlook boys’ relational capabilities and underestimate their vulnerability."
