Today, the 22nd of Shevat, marks the 32nd anniversary of the passing of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson, wife of the Lubavitcher Rebbe. A woman of true royalty, she serves as a role model for Jewish women across generations the world over. Every year on this date, women leaders gather together to empower, uplift and inspire one another. Join us in saying l'chaim to all the women leaders out there!

This Shabbos, the 10th of Shvat, we celebrate 70 years of the Rebbe's leadership. Exactly one year before, on the 10th of Shvat, 1950, the previous Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn, passed away. In his first public address, upon assuming the mantle of leadership, the Rebbe shared his "mission statement of reaching out to every single human with love and shower the world with goodness and G-dliness. The Rebbe's directives and legacy exist within each and every one of ...us. He did not live looking for the light at the end of the tunnel. What he did, and taught us to do, is to be the light in the tunnel. He empowered us to kindle the spark within, to kindle the flame of our own souls - and then use that fire to light the flame and ignite the soul of others. The Rebbe trained us to be lamplighters. Light your lamp. Shine forth. And pay it forward. See our stories for more details and inspiration for this special day. Shabbat candles in the Northridge area ~ 4:57pm Shabbat ends ~ 5:55pm
