A study was proposed in January of 2019 to assess the efficacy of the CerviPedic Neck-Relief M2 device in a group of adults through a standardized neuromuscular assessment and a health survey tool. The study, supervised by Dr Brian Bachelder, PhD ran from May 2019 to November 2019 at a sports treatment facility in Boston, MA. The main plan was to determine if there was a difference in the varied measures which included Surface EMG of multiple cervical spine muscles in the tw...o different positions and SF36 (health survey) questionnaire. For each measure, pre- and post- differences for each specific measurement were made as well as a determination of right-left symmetry by evaluating the difference between the 2 hemispheres of the body. During each session, each participant was equipped with surface EMG electrodes on each of the muscle groups and readings were taken prior to engagement with the device. The participant was then asked to lay on the CerviPedic device for 15 minutes in the supine position, then another 15 minutes in the reclined position. Upon laying on the device, EMG readings showed an immediate decrease in muscle activity which was sustained throughout the duration of the session. With the EMG, significant differences were identified for several muscles including the Levator Scapula, Scalenes, Trapezius, and Sternocleidomastoid. Symmetry data improved in the trapezius and sternocleidomastoid. The SF36 questionnaire showed improvements in all metrics including emotional well-being, energy, health change, pain, physical functioning and role limitations due to physical health. These findings led us to conclude that the CerviPedic Neck-Relief device places the cervical spine in a beneficial position to reduce cervical muscle overactivity and thus decreased symptoms of overactivity including spasm, headache and pain. The SF36 data is evidence that the subjects who had a decrease in neck muscle overactivity reported feeling better in all aspects of daily living. This is an effective neck orthotic that may have larger potential to alleviate stresses from poor posture and cervical muscular tension. The device itself is small, lightweight and extremely comfortable for most people which makes it very easy to integrate into everyday life. A device which supports proper position has many biomechanical advantages; blood flow, muscle length, intervertebral disc spacing which can lead to improved range of motion and enhancement of daily activities. These findings led us to conclude that the CerviPedic Neck-Relief M2 device places the cervical spine in a beneficial position to reduce cervical muscle overactivity and thus decreased symptoms of overactivity including spasm, headache and pain.
#Repost Ruth Bader Ginsburg stood for all of us. She was an American hero, a giant of legal doctrine, and a relentless voice in the pursuit of that highest American ideal: Equal Justice Under Law. May her memory be a blessing to all people who cherish our constitution and its promise. Let me be clear: The voters should pick a President, and that President should select a successor to Justice Ginsburg.... @joebiden See more

Bring the Neck-Relief with you everywhere! Couch 1, couch 2, the floor, your bed, the car.....it doesn't matter where you go in the house during quarantine, Neck-Relief is with you. #staysafe. . . . #chiropractic #chiropractor #posture #neckrelief #mobility #longevity #backpain #textneck #techneck #healthyspine #uppercervical #uppercervicalcare
#Repost @longevitychiro Whether you’re crawling into your laptop for another meeting (if so, see previous post), or sinking into the sofa waiting to see what @joe_exotic will do next, it is important to give your body a true rest from all the stress and tension you’re building up when being sedentary during these quarantined times. So between meetings or episodes, or whatever you find yourself doing in one position for longer than an hour, take 10-15 minutes to ...lie on the ground like the first photo and take some deep breaths in through your stomach (like a balloon) to help destress your system and further relax your muscles. TIPS FOR PROPER POSITION - SWIPE THROUGH: Make sure your knees are bent, and press your lower back against the ground in order to engage your core. In the second photo, you see a simple way to check yourself, by sliding your fingers under your lower back where the curve is to make sure it’s flat against the ground. It’s best to put something behind your neck like the @cervipedic_neck_relief we carry at the office, in order to put the joints and muscles of your neck and upper back in proper position where everything is able to open up and relax without gravity or improper posture constantly building up throughout the day. DM for more questions on this and if you would like to set up some time to discuss your at-home set up and recommendations while you WFH or simply just stay at home. . . . #chiropractic #chiropractor #lakeforest #lakeforestCA #orangecounty #OCchiropractor #posture #posturecorrection #rehab #posture #neckrelief #textneck #rehabilitation #core #corestrength #coreworkout #exercise #workout #longevitychiro #sciatica #backpain #quarantine #workingfromhome #WFH #ergonomics #shelterinplace #californiaquarantine #socialdistance #socialdistancing #covidworkout #backpain #sciatica See more
