We are Blessed to welcome Dr. Emilie Endow back to our Cerritos 2020 Family! Dr. Endow was one of our Optometric Interns several years ago and now she is returning back to our office to provide excellent eyecare to our patients. We know you will just LOVE her! Learn a little more about Dr. Endow’s background here: Dr. Emilie Endow is another SoCal native who grew up in West LA and Downey, CA. Her love for optometry began while earning her bachelors of science degree in bio...logical sciences at UC Irvine. During these formative years, she had the opportunities to go on a church mission trip to Kakuyuni, Kenya and volunteer at another medical mission to Tegucigalpa, Honduras. She was immediately drawn to optometry and the prospects of offering eyecare services to underserved communities, both local and abroad. Soon after the mission trips, she was given the opportunity to intern for Dr. Fujimoto, Dr. Fernando, and Dr. Mallari. This wonderful experience further solidified her desire to pursue optometry. She went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry graduating magna cum laude. Her clinical training included rotations at the VA Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Center, Ketchum Health in Anaheim, University Eye Care Center at Los Angeles, and Castle Family Health Center in central California. Dr. Endow recently moved back to SoCal with her husband and is rejoining Cerritos 2020 after a busy year practicing optometry in New York City. She is thrilled not only to be back to warm, sunny CA and her family but also to now provide exceptional eye care at her old stomping grounds! Dr. Endow is skilled in managing ocular diseases such as dry eye and macular degeneration as well as certified to evaluate and treat glaucoma. She provides adult and pediatric comprehensive eye examinations and can fit many different types of contact lenses including Ortho-Keratology to treat and slow myopia (near-sighted) progression. In her free time, you'll find her hiking, water coloring, cutting hair (new quarantine-hobby), or doing crossword puzzles with her husband Darin, who is also an optometrist.

Over the past few years our office have been so blessed to have worked with so many AMAZING interns. We are so proud of all our interns, a majority who are now practicing Optometry in various states and providing nothing but excellent eyecare to their patients. Here is a photo of Michele K. and her lovely Mom at her white coat ceremony at Marshall Ketchum University 3 years ago. Michele was our Optometric Intern for many years before she started Optometry school. In less than a year, Michele will be gracing this stage again but this time she will be receiving her Doctorate of Optometry. Dr. Fernando-Langit and Dr. Mallari Bolado are so extremely proud of all our interns! #mentorship #buildingeyecareprofessionals #futureeyecareprofessionals #cerritos2020optometry #cerritosoptometrists #cerritos2020optometryteam

Are you having trouble with fogging with your glasses? Here are some easy tips! 1 Fold a tissue horizontally and place it between your face and mask. 2 Use a mask that molds to your nose (masks that have a flexible wire allow you to mold it around the nose better!). ... 3 Make sure your glasses are sitting on top of your mask to prevent air leaking out. 4 Use a small piece of medical grade tape over top of mask and bridge of nose to prevent air from leaking out and in. 5 Wash your glasses with soapy water or dish soap and then air dry. The soap will leave a film that will stop water molecules from forming droplets and will prevent fog. : AAO #cerritos2020optometry #eyecare #cerritosoptometrists #foggyglasses #covidtips #masks #glasses #preventfogging
