Join us for Storytelling Time and Celebrate Dia de Muertos with Centro Volunteer Argelia Ramirez. She will be reading Just a Minute by Yuyi Morales. Book Description:This original trickster tale, with its vivacious illustrations and dynamic read-aloud text, is at once a spirited tribute to the rich traditions of Mexican culture and a perfect introduction to counting in both English and Spanish.

Join us, Sunday October 11, 2020 at 230pm for the Virtual Art Walk with Alicia Siu. "From Our Voices" is a traveling mural project that sheds light on recent migrations as forced displacements. The project was born out of the need to denounce state violence exacerbated by the 2009 military coup d'etat in Honduras leading to an increase in extrajudicial killings, the expropriation of indigenous territories, and gender-based violence.

This event focuses on deepening the conversation on why there are forced displacements. Recent asylum winners will be sharing their testimonies and understanding on why many choose to leave their homeland and migrate north. Alicia Siu (Artist) and Roberto D. Hernández (Collective Member of Detention Resistance & SDSU Border Studies Professor) will be sharing historical and cultural perspectives.
