We also hear that Peter's Mother-In-Law did not simply respond by serving a meal, but by becoming a servant of Jesus and the disciples. Today we look at the greatest commandments, according to Jesus, and see how the love we are called to is not emotional/passionate but rather grows from ACTION, in response to God's love for us, and increases our love for God because of our loving kindness, mercy and actions for and with our neighbors.

THIS MONDAY - We're back in action after a hiatus to serve voters - so come on down and help us restock people's pantries with our Mobile Food Distribution!

There will be plenty to clean up on this Thanksgiving week, when we are giving out frozen birds for Thanksgiving, as well as all the Food Bank brings to the day!

Since Friday - 636 people (316 today!) came through our church to cast votes or drop off ballots. At least 580 are people we never see otherwise. We weren’t in your face with them but we met new friends, created new connections and built on some important relationships, all while People got to exercise a very special privilege and responsibility, to VOTE. THANKS to all the Central folks and the LA County Vote Center team who served to bring this great experience together. It takes a Place where people can come together - masked sanitized and 6’ apart - to offer a sense of Community even in a pandemic, and it takes a Sacred Space to make strangers become welcome neighbors and friends. #Vote2020 #vote2020LA #VanNuys

We celebrate the lives of those saints who have gone before us, and look at the beginning of Jesus' most famous sermon (Beatitudes) to guide us to become disciples, and to help others become followers and leaders. CENTRAL will serve as a Voting Center from Fri. 10/30/2020 through Tues. 11/3/2020. Park on Tyrone, Enter on GILMORE - accessible parking at Gilmore lot. We are pleased to partner with the County Registrar to encourage people to #VOTE #VOTE2020 PS - our tenant church will be selling pupusas out the Tyrone door on Friday from 5 pm - 8 pm. $2 each with the trimmings - help them pay the rent, please, and enjoy a tasty meal!
