Another day camp opportunity for all our Central Coast kiddos!

Central Coast Youth Football League 13.12.2020

Sadly, it was decided this week that a season starting in January was not likely to happen, therefore is canceled. It’s a complex issue. COVID of course being central. In addition to the virus there are issues of field use and many competing sports seasons ex. Baseball, rugby. We are going to look forward with optimism for a full, regular 2021 season in the Summer/Fall. Please reach out to your individual chapters for guidance and ways you can volunteer in making that ...season happen. Volunteers are always needed from the registration process to game days to equipment issues etc. There are jobs for everyone! We are so sorry for the boys and girls who were looking forward to this season of football and cheer. Our hearts are with all our CCYFL families. Please stay safe and we will see you again soon! If there are any programs or activities that are not CCYFL related but could be of interest to your family, I will post them here on our FB page. Camps, training programs etc.

A vote was held earlier this week to determine if we would cancel the YFL and cheer season or try to have one early 2021. The votes were tallied and passed on a majority. We will quickly be forming a committee to plan for an early 2021 season so we can jump through all the necessary hoops and get these kiddos back to what they love to do as safely as possible.

Last night the CCYFL Executive Board as well as representatives from every chapter met via Zoom to discuss the upcoming season. The Fall season is not going to happen because of the State and County guidelines and restraints surrounding youth sports as a whole. That is something that we are all facing and cannot control. It was proposed that each chapter submits a vote in early August to determine if our league should follow the lead of CIF and try to have a season in Janu...ary/February of 2021. If this vote moves forward there will be a committee formed to come up with a plan that can be presented to the County for approval. Again, there are no guarantees because of COVID-19 but there are people willing to step up and lead that effort if it is the will of the league to see how things are in January. We will announce on this page after August 4th if the vote is to cancel the season or to try and have a modified season in early 2021. If you have questions let us know or talk to your chapter reps before the vote on August 4th. See more

Hello Families and Coaches! We were going to update you today but we want to see what CIF decisions will be announced on Monday. We will send out a link to a Zoom meeting to all the chapter reps for Monday evening. Please keep an eye out for a decision on the season next week. We are sorry to keep delaying this announcement but it is all in an effort to get creative and be able to give you all something to hope for instead of just giving up. Hopefully the CIF announcement will offer some insight as to what is possible for us to salvage this season for our kiddos.

Hello VVYFL Family, We hope you and your families are doing as well as can be during these uncertain times. Some of you have begun to ask if and when we will c...ontinue with football and cheer registrations for the upcoming season. The CCYFL is hoping to have an answer for us by July 17th. With the current state of the economy and uncertainty surrounding Covid-19, we would like to compile a list of kids still interested in playing football and cheer if/when we are given the go-ahead to field teams this fall. If your child is still interested in participating in the fall (ages 7-14 no freshman) please send an email to [email protected] with the following information: 1) Child Full Name 2) Child age 3) Parents Name 4) email address 5) phone number We are looking forward to getting back out on that field and see the kids have a good time. As soon as we know information, we will send an email and post on Facebook. We hope to see you all soon! Take care!

CCYFL families and chapters...we wanted to give you a quick update. We have met and discussed the upcoming season. Just like you, it has been a lot of sitting around and waiting for what the Governor and local governments plans would be. We feel that things look promising but we just don't know for sure. We came to an agreement that a decision needs to be made by July 17th. In the meantime we will be coming up with an alternative schedule so that if there is hope on the horizon we can adjust and put together a season for these eager boys and girls without too much stress on each chapter. July 17th seems like an acceptable date to call the season either way. Chapters, please be on the lookout for a Zoom link via email so that we can discuss plans with you virtually this week.
