CenCal Speedway Fresno

The track will be open for practice tomorrow. It’s already been juiced and ready to go. Hobbytown is closed tomorrow so you will need to bring your own power supplies. The scoring system will also not be running. I’m going to try to hold a club race day or practice next Sunday Nov 1st. I will make a post to let everyone know if I’m able to put a race day on.

Track is washed and clean. Driver stand floor completely replaced! Now which color to paint it? Leave a comment of what rattle can paint color you’d like to see it painted. Orange is popular!

Round 3 in the books. Round 4 11/14 Speedworld!

Round 3 of Asphalt Wars at Nor-Cal Hobbies went down yesterday and it was AMAZING! Eric Vasutin and Aaron Lewis put together one hell of an event for us. 101 entries for a one day race event is seriously impressive! We were also blessed with mid 80s light breezy weather. The Qual rounds were great and the A mains were over flowing with intense close battles in every class. The entire day was filled full of smiles, trash talk, jokes and laughter. Big thank you to Marcus Plumle...e for helping me get my 17.5 together. Thank you to Brandon Smith, Don Smith, Aaron Lewis, EJ Evans, Jeff Auxier Gino Della Nina Clint Riley and DuJuan Moore for having the patience and taking your time to teach, give racing advice, set up help and some of the best damn stories and jokes all day long. Next week 10/24 is Rumble in Ripon 11/7-8 Team Powers Cup at Nor Cal 11/14 Round 4 Finale Asphalt wars at Speedworld!

There will be no race this Saturday at Cencal speedway. Asphalt wars series is this weekend at NorCal Hobbies. I do have a post up with all the upcoming big races. As far as CenCal goes our track is in need of some maintenance. I will be attempting to wash the track this Friday. Next weekend I’ll be fixing the drivers stand along with 2 sections of piping. The next scheduled race date is December 5th for the beginning of our Winter series. I will also be attempting to sc...hedule a Tamiya Championships Race before the end of the year. I know December 5th is a bit far out but the track needs the attention. If I can schedule a Club day or practice day before then I absolutely will. Asphalt Wars Rd. 3 this Sunday at Nor-Cal Hobbies!!!! Saturday practice, setup begins at 8AM, need all the help we can get to get the track up and going for eve...ryone to practice on.. Sunday doors at 7, shooting to have track ready by 8am, drivers meeting at 10:30am, racing at 10:45am. Pitting still has to be outdoors as the off-road track is open and we have limited indoor occupancy right now. According to Santa Clara County Masks are required still. PARKING!!!!!!!! We NEED everyone to park in the front lot, the neighbors have been complaining and they are open now so we need to respect them to be able to keep racing. The lane along to back straight needs to be open as well, no parking or pitting in that lane, we need to keep it open per the land lord. Sounding like this will be a great turnout and a race not to miss!! Who is racing what classes?????? See everyone this weekend!

What a weekend! I have a lot of thank you(s) to give out! First and foremost Thank you to you the racers and your families. Without the support of our families, spouses and kids 3 day race weekends probably wouldn’t happen. Thank you to Ben Tilley for all the countless hours of working on the track, prepping the race surface and making it amazing for CenCal5! Thank you to Don Smith for being my right hand man all weekend long, From setting up and taking the track down each da...y to helping keep our track and facilities clean! Thank you Tony Atkins for all the photos! HobbyTown for providing us an excellent facility to hold CenCal5. Thank you to Notch Johnson for running one hell of a program. Officially 128 Entries with 86 Drivers. As someone said The pinnacle of Race directing is Notch Johnson! Thank you! One of my biggest thank you goes to Aaron Lewis! Your guidance on Event planning, track prep and car set up is unmatched. Thank you for answering all of my questions at almost any hour of the day or night. Watching Team Yokomo this weekend cheer and root each other on from the sweeper was the very definition of Team! I had more laughs and picked up more knowledge from that corner of track than I could of imagined. Thank you Jeff Auxier, Gino Della Nina and @ Marcus Plumlee!
