Al Watt - Creative Director of L.A. Writers’ Lab will be joining us next coming weekend at the virtual #NationalAdoptionConference! Alan Watt, fellow adoptee, is also the author of The 90-Day Novel, Amazon’s #1 book on writing, as well as The 90-Day Rewrite and The 90-Day Screenplay. He will also discuss the meaning and purpose of the word "Adversity", and how we can use the "gifts" given to foster youth, through their adversity, to propel them forward. He will finish by discussing the ideas behind the 3 V's of Adversity: Victim, Victor, and Vessel. Proud to announce singer songwriter and fellow fostered and adoptee jenni alpert will be performing virtually at our #nationaladoptionconference this year. save the dates: Nov 14th & 15th She will be live online on the 14th at 2pm. jenni alpert otherwise known as her intended birth name Cami is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and pianist. Born in Los Angeles and adopted at the age of four, she started to sing and play piano while staying in various foster homes an...d began writing songs early. Upon becoming the Jazz vocalist accepted to UCLA’s Ethnomusicology program Alpert also took up the guitar and began to write and record albums independently touring in over 14 countries. Shy of four years ago she found and reunited with her birth father who at the time was homeless, running from the law, and addicted, but a musician as well. Through their reunion and unprecedented partnership, her birth father’s transformation inspired the making of a short documentary Homeless: The Soundtrack directed by Emmy Award winning director Irene Taylor Brodsky, which garnered several film awards, featured at Tribeca Film Festival, and is scheduled for international release later this year.
