Celiac Community Foundation of Northern California 02.04.2021

It's pretty amazing we all pulled this off! It took the dedication of our camp directors and board, community generosity and the enduring enthusiasm and spirit of our campers and counselors. And it's time to do it again for 2021! Thanks to our camp partner The Taylor Family Foundation for helping us build the strong foundation and loyal community that is allowing our camp to make it through tough times. We can't wait to see you back in person at Camp Celiac at Camp Arroyo in ...2022. #celiacdisease #celiac #glutenintolerance #glutensensitivity #glutenfree #summercamp #summercamp2021 Celiac Camp http://celiaccommunity.org/2021/camp-celiacs-pandemic-pivot/

Get the facts on #COVID19 vaccines and #celiacdisease in our next #webinar with Center for Celiac Research and Treatment on March 25 at 1 pm Eastern Time. Add...ressing the COVID-19 pandemic requires understanding variations in the human immune system, how different groups are affected by the virus, and how we can leverage science to develop targeted vaccines to protect us. Dr. Ofer Levy, director of the Precisions Vaccine Program in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Boston Children’s Hospital and Dr. Lael Yonker, pediatric pulmonologist and co-founder of the Pediatric COVID-19 Biorepository at Massachusetts General Hospital, will lead the discussion to help attendees understand what is known about the COVID-19 virus today and how new developments will help to contain community spread of the virus. Lee Graham, executive director of the National Celiac Association, will introduce the webinar and Dr. Dascha Weir, pediatric gastroenterologist in the Boston Children’s Hospital’s Celiac Disease Program, will moderate the session. Tel Aviv and Palo Alto-based biotech company Ukko is mapping the molecular structure of food allergies and celiac disease. The company is designing proteins that do not trigger an immune response. The goal is to use the discoveries for food and therapeutics. For example, this could lead to a flour that has the good properties of wheat without triggering celiac disease. Dear Community, We recently got the heartbreaking news that The Taylor Family Foundation will not be hosting any in-person camps in summer of 2021, including Celiac Camp. While this decision was not easy to make, they are making it out of the utmost concern for the safety of our campers and counselors. They are not in a position to postpone the decision and have spent a great deal of time and thought on it. We know this cancellation is a big disappointment, but we will be w...orking on ideas for our Camp Celiac community for 2021, so please be on the lookout for news in the next few months. Comment below or on the Celiac Camp page or email director Molly Stone [email protected] if you have questions, ideas or feedback. We look forward to seeing you all in person again when it's safe. In the meantime, here's a Camp Celiac group hug for everyone below...
