More than 30 companies and agencies from throughout Butte County, all with job openings, are planning to attend the Butte County Job Fair organized by the local nonprofit Alliance for Workforce Development. Getting job hunters ready for the job fair is another aspect, with the alliance hosting two workshops. One is 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. June 4 at the Oroville One Stop, 78 Table Mountain Blvd. To register, call 538-7301. The other is 9 to 11 a.m. June 8 at the Chico One Stop, 2445 Carmichael Drive. To register, call 895-4364. We’re encouraging people to access these resources ahead of time. It’s about getting your resume ready, printing it, how to approach businesses at a job fair, what to wear, what to ask, said Velazquez.
