Worship Team Development is one of our FAVORITE classes of the School of Worship program! What is it, you might ask? Students are assigned to different teams and instruments, and work together to prepare worship sets for presentation day! The class focuses on the practical aspects of building a worship team, managing rehearsals, choosing set lists, arranging songs, and gaining experience leading and/or supporting their teams. Round 1 presentations were last week so today the...y’ve all been assigned to new teams and instruments (maybe even instruments they’ve only learned this year)! Want to join the fun? Applications are open for the 2021-2022 school year for both our in-person and online programs! Check out our website to start yours today.

Hi SOW family! We are having a GREAT first week back here at the School of Worship, and are so excited to see what the Lord will continue to do in and through our students this year. Yesterday they all wrote new songs based off of Psalms and performed them for each other (all in under 2 hours)! And GUESS WHAT? We are working on recording some of the incredible pieces they’ve written throughout the year so you all will be able to listen to them too. Raise your hand if you want... to hear some of the songs they’ve been writing!!! #sowgood #sow2021

Happy Birthday to our beloved Media Arts track coordinator, English drummer, resident creative genius, master of funny sayings, and friend @neilgodding! We know so many of you have been influenced and encouraged by Neil over his years here at SOW, and we would love to bless him today. If you are a friend or a student (current or former), would you leave a favorite memory or something you’ve learned from him?

Yesterday we challenged our students to split up into groups and write an original song. Last night we had the sweet opportunity to gather and hear what they had written. It is always a blessing to hear how the Lord can so mightily work through us when we create together. Check out our story to hear some of the highlights! #schoolofworship #growyourgift #sowgood

Each of us has a specific responsibility to demonstrate the love God shows towards us to others. -Pastor Jordan Taylor . We were so blessed to have @jordanadamstaylor guest teach about Community in our Spiritual Disciplines class today! We are only on our second week of school, but it’s exciting to see our students becoming a community here at SOW and the ways they’re being challenged to engage in the communities at their churches.

One of our favorite parts of the School of Worship is the community and friendships that are built. Each year, students come from all over the US and the world to learn, to grow, and to sit at the feet of Jesus. They might start the year as strangers, but they leave as family. And we sure do love our family! . There are still spots left for the 2020-2021 school year both in-person and online. If you’re interested send us a DM so we can help you through the application process! #growyourgift

"God isn't looking for something brilliant; He's looking for something broken. Bob Kauflin, 'Worship Matters' . We know this season has been challenging for many people, and today we want to encourage you that God is not looking for perfection or a lack of brokenness in His servants or in your worship. As David wrote in Psalm 51, "You do not desire a sacrifice, or I would offer one. You do not want a burnt offering. The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not r...eject a broken and repentant heart, O God. Are you feeling weary or broken, tired or inadequate? God wants to use you--brokenness included. Your weakness never impedes the work of God. . "For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So death is at work in us, but life in you. 2 Corinthians 4:6-12 . "But He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 See more

It’s Worship Cover Wednesday! This week’s video is a cover of ‘Man of Your Word’ by @maverickcitymusic featuring an alumni who attend the FIRST ever year at School of Worship back in 2002, @pastorj2thetata. . 2 Peter 1:4 And because of His glory and excellence, He has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share His divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. .... From Joe: In a time of great uncertainty it is wonderful that Christians have the very certain promises of Jesus. He came to this earth, put on human flesh, and yet, all the while, promised He would rise and conquer death. And He kept his promise. If He kept that promise, He’ll keep all of them. Lean into the promises of God today...learn them...live by them. You won’t regret it. . If you missed last week’s worship cover go check it out! Each week we will be featuring one worship cover by a SOW student or alumni every Wednesday throughout the summer. . #worshipcoverwednesday #schoolofworship #growyourgift #worship #discipleshipprograms #mediaartsprograms #musicprograms See more
