Thank you for celebrating the Year of the Rat with us over the weekend in downtown San Diego! Downtown San Diego has a long history of being the home to Chinese and Chinese Americans, as well as Japanese and Filipino Americans. We at Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association - San Diego are proud to continue sharing our cultural traditions with the greater San Diego community since 1911. Our Board Member, Murray Lee, has served our Board and provided our organization with t...he ability and spirit to honor our past and remember the people who first settled the Chinatown of San Diego. His historical research and expertise is priceless and shall be treasured for generations. We honor him as this year's Honorary Chair. The San Diego Chinese New Year is produced by a volunteer committee of 6 community leaders, inspired by the dedication of Murray Lee and all of the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association - San Diego Board Members. They are a diverse group in terms of age, ethnicity, and profession, and exemplify our mission of sharing culture and traditions that reflect all of San Diego's Asian American Pacific Islander people. Thank you for your support!
