Lots of things are different about this school year, but we can still dress up in costumes for Halloween! Here are some pictures of our lower school boys all dressed up for the big day.
Alum in the news! Amrit Bajeva '17, together with a Branson classmate, created a contact tracing app that will allow students in Marin to return safely and confidently to campus. Awesome job, Amrit! https://www.nbcbayarea.com//north-bay-high-school/2385253/
CSB families: Tonight at 7 p.m., join 8th-grade mom and historic preservationist Bridget Maley for "Building Grace," a talk about the history of Grace Cathedral, from its founding as Grace Church to the construction of the space we know today. Check this week's Hawk Talk for Zoom details!
Reading al fresco with the 2nd grade!
Happy Parent-Teacher conference day! We hope everyone's conference went well, and that you're ready for the weekend. This week's edition of Hawk Talk (our internal community magazine) has some great ideas for weekend activities, including pumpkin portraits with kindergarteners and an authentic Italian pasta-making lesson from mom Max and son JW. CSB families and staff can find Hawk Talk on the resource board; new issues come out each Tuesday!
We can't wait to welcome our fifth graders back to campus tomorrow! Their teachers are excited and ready - here's how a few of them reacted to the news.
Our second graders are taking advantage of the beautiful weather and the newly turfed Terrace to do their Readers Workshop outside!
We were so saddened to learn about the tragic passing of Jason Cortez, Class of 1993. He leaves behind his parents, brother, wife, and two sons. His colleagues at Station 3 of the SF Fire Department have set up a GoFundMe to start a college fund for his children; you can contribute at the link below. https://www.gofundme.com/f/firefighter-jason-cortez-memoria
Our kindergarteners, first graders, and second graders are excited to be back on campus, and @acregourmet lunches are a big reason why! Here’s what lunchtime looks like at CSB now- healthy food and happy boys, all spaced six feet apart.
The boys are back! Well, at least our kindergarteners are, and from the looks of it, they’re as excited to be here as we are to see them. First and second graders, we can’t wait to welcome you back to campus next week!
We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve received permission from the city to reopen our campus! We can’t wait to get the boys back here. Parents, stay tuned for more information on dates, times, and procedures in the next few days. In the meantime, here’s a glimpse at today’s faculty in-service, where we reviewed our social distancing and safe classroom guidelines and practiced for the boys’ return.
We’re putting the finishing touches on preparing our campus for the boys’ return! Here are a few glimpses of what’s awaiting them.
Sew cool! Our 7th graders are in the middle of a unit on sewing, and they’re currently creating quilts for City Hope, a Tenderloin-based non-profit and one of our community service partners. Not only are our boys learning new skills, but they’re able to take a nice (and well-deserved) break from their distance learning classes on Zoom!
