Castro Valley Orchestra 19.01.2021

Hello Castro Valley Orchestra Facebook Followers! First of all, we are delighted that you are keeping up-to-date on the Castro Valley Orchestra’s doin’s during these trying times! We hope you are all staying safe and healthy, and have plenty of opportunity to interact with others at a safe distance. We LOVE our followers! CVO has not been asleep! (Hiatus perhaps, but not asleep!) Earlier in the Summer were honored and delighted to receive an ArtsFund grant! We’ve also been ...working on a number of projects: We recorded a reduced version of Mozart’s Symphony 40 and posted it to YouTube. Currently we are working on a number of projects including The Flutists of CVO playing Holst’s The Planets (or at least some of them!); Our concertmaster, Chris Cooper has arranged several Beatles tunes for string quartet, and our woodwinds (currently searching for catchy names!), are working on a couple of projects which we hope to post soon. Thanks to Zoom, the orchestra meets periodically to catch up with each other and stay in touch. Some are practicing and others not so much. Josh and the board are thinking about projects to keep everyone practicing and engaged in music music making, even if we can’t be all together. By the way, suggest a name for our woodwind quintet (or any of our groups!): If we like the names, you’ll get a couple of tickets to our next performance (whenever that is!). We’ll pick a winner and a runner-up and post them in a future Facebook blurb. Also, if you’d like to suggest a project we should do during this time of COVID, suggest! Oh, and in case you haven’t yet, VOTE!
