Don’t forget to join us for tonight’s Spring concert. www.Facebook.com/groups/coyotemusic
Introducing the ZEN DEN at Castaic High School!! Beginning Monday, April 12th, the Zen Den will be open and ready to receive students. Staffed by various trained counselors, the Zen Den will be open from 8-1 Monday-Thursday for students to drop in or schedule one-on-one appointments. A HUGE thank you to Wellness Coordinator, Ms. Kennedy and her bringchange2mind.org students for making the Zen Den such a welcoming space! We are SO EXCITED!!
There were so many sporting events going on with our Coyotes today that we could barely keep up. Highlight Reel: softball and baseball dominated. Boys soccer had some amazing saves by keeper Luka Hodge. The ladies of Coyote soccer took home a win. Both girls and boys swim teams swam to victories with 3 CIF considerations from the girls. It was a pretty good day.
Today we celebrated the STAFF at Castaic High School!! Jersey Mike's Subs provided sandwiches to all of our almost 90 staff members today! Thank you, Jersey Mike's!! We're ready for Day One Part Two tomorrow!
To participate along with Bring Change 2 Mind, join the Zoom with Mr. Person today at 3pm here: https://hartdistrict-org.zoom.us/j/84968554917. Mr. Person will join our students to speak about his experience as a Freedom Rider and take a few questions from the attendees on how they can be supportive advocates and allies as part of Intersectionality Week brought to you by BC2M.
And, here is Torrin's winning commercial for GoPro! Shout out to GMC Teacher Charles Deuschle for all of his mentorship of our Coyote journalists.
Coyote Zander Grable also brought home an honorable mention for Sports Commentary in this year's virtual STN Convention. Check out the cameo from Coyote Mom Christy Grable in Zander's winning entry.
We told you we’d keep you updated on the happenings at the virtual Student Television Network Annual Competition! Castaic High got its first win today in the TV commercial category from Coyote Torrin Reichers who placed third! These kids only had 1 1/2 semesters of in-person instruction before they went completely online! And now they’re competing against juniors and seniors from across the country. Congratulations, Torrin and the cast and crew of Good Morning Castaic! To get an idea of what this week has looked like for these kids, check out the STN Closing Ceremony here. https://youtu.be/-ZOiXjZTvss
More cool Coyotes doing their thing. Today, we bring you some beginning video production students who created their own mini- GOOD NEWS ONLY broadcast! It's these Little Things that have made this semester tolerable!! Take it away, Parks and Jaylan!
This is such a cool opportunity from the Santa Clarita Public Library for our local teens. Maybe the next Amanda Gorman is a Coyote just waiting for their chance! Students can register at www.santaclaritalibrary.com/events
A semester in review with the advanced theater program at Castaic High. Even though we were here for all of this with them, it's shocking to see how much these kids were able to accomplish this semester with the help of Ms. Mistry!
Student E Nava created this Ted Talk in Ms. Abernethy's Leadership class. E really captured a poignant message to share with us as we prepare to move on to Winter Break and into spring semester and to get ready for all of the Little Things that are yet to come.
You can support Coyote Baseball every week! Twice a week!
This event is open to ALL!! If you know someone in need and they may not see this on Facebook, please share this with them.
**Edit: The app is not currently available for student use. The daily email is the only place to self-certify. Paper forms are still acceptable. Good Morning! It was brought to our attention that a message was sent by the District Office to all of our students alerting you about the CrisisGo protocol for students and staff to use ONCE STUDENTS REPORT BACK TO SCHOOL. This should not have gone out to every student yet and we apologize for any confusion that was caused this m...orning. Only students who come to campus for small cohorts or athletics should fill this daily self-certification out. You can take this opportunity to download the app on your child's phone to use for when school DOES resume so that you and your child know what will be expected of them each day before they arrive on campus. The self-certification takes about 5 seconds to complete. Again, we are sorry for any unnecessary stress that was caused by receiving this message in error. At least you know we're all getting ready for a return to campus! ;) See more

Our custodial staff is out here saving lives! Baby raccoon lives, but lives just the same! We love our wild neighbors out here on Valley Creek Rd. **Update: Ms. Resella took all three babies to a veterinarian who is caring for them since they don't have their mama. She said they only survived because of the patience and work of custodian Javier and all of the work by our team at Castaic. Thank you, Javi, Castaic High custodial team, Ms. Resella, and Dr. Rachael!!
Even from their homes, our students are repping their high school. Coyote Mia Souther placed third in the social media category of the Journalism Day Conference competition in September of this year. Mia is an editor of our online publication, The Daily Howl, and the first issue will be released at the end of this month. Congratulations, Mia! Advisor, Ms. Graves, and the rest of your Coyote team are very proud of you!! https://highschool.latimes.com//2020-virtual-csun-j-day-c/

On Wednesdays, we wear pink! Check out some of our Coyote support staff working hard on campus while supporting Breast Cancer Awareness, Coyote style! Thank you campus supervisors, custodial staff, office staff, and instructional assistants for keeping the fires burning on campus.
Save the date for the first VIRTUAL Showcase from the Coyote Theatre Company, under the direction of Ms. Hannah Mistry!
The Castaic Dance Team is out here warming up the turf for football each day at practice. They can't wait to get into their gorgeous studio, but until then, they are killing it on the field! Thank you Coaches Kari and Ginger for bringing dance back on campus!
Take a little time tonight to enjoy some live music from our Coyote Music Department. Livestreaming on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/ccoyotemusic at 7pm TONIGHT, Oct 15. It will be your only chance to enjoy a glass of wine with your concert since this one can be viewed from your own living rooms instead of on campus!
