C.A.S.E. Cooks Performance!

The C.A.S.E. Team is growing! 2016 is coming to a close and we'd like to take a moment to reflect on the growth that we've experienced. This year we've been able to welcome Ms. Micah, Mr. Jimmy, Mrs. Joy, and Ms. Ashley to the C.A.S.E. team! (And our newest member, and future C.E.O., baby Kevin!) We've also added new programs such as Step Dance and Culinary, and what a blast it has been! Our STAR students have performed for their friends, families, schools, and even district officials! Way to go, STARS! There's so much more to learn before the school year is up, so stay tuned! Happy Holidays!!

Mr. Hock gave C.A.S.E. a chance in 2014, with its first program at its first school! From one school to another, he has continued his faith in C.A.S.E. and the performing arts, and tonight, he invited Kevin to join him in accepting a check to fund the continuation of the Choir and Instrumental programs. Happy Birthday to our very own, Mrs. Cat! She teaches private and group voice, piano, and theater classes with C.A.S.E.! We wish her a very happy birthday and thank her for all of her hard work and dedication to C.A.S.E. and our STAR Students!

Sunrise Elementary Parents! Happy Labor Day Weekend! Here is an email I've sent a parent that wanted to make sure that his/her students are being the best that can be at home so that they can be prepared for classes. I have pasted it below to share the information with you. "Hello, ... The calendar that I've sent home for August. For Choir Students: We've worked on performance etiquette and we've studied different musical styles. At the very least, the children should be working on their posture and ability to focus for a period of time without moving or breaking focus. This seems like an easy task, but it is almost impossible for a group of 40+ students to do it at the same time. They should also be trying to understand musical styles/genres. I introduced a few genres with the class (Jazz, Pop, Hip Hop, Disco, Rock/Metal), but they haven't experienced/listened to them. Please take some time to sit down with your students and help them understand what different styles/genres are by helping them find and listen to songs that represent them. For Instrumental Students: We've worked on internalizing rhythms and a study of different music genres. Students should be listening to music at home and clapping/singing along with songs. This will help students strengthen their ability to "Keep Time", following along, and play with the group. Another way to do that exercise is to play a song that they now and turn down the volume for a portion of it while they're still singing or clapping to a song. When you turn the music back up, they should be singing the correct lyrics and/or clapping the correct rhythms. Students in the class should also be listen to music of a variety of genres. I even asked this class to write down 1 song title, the artist's name, and the genre that the songs belongs to and bring it to the next class. Thank you so much for being so involved in your students' education."
