Starving babies! Breakfast time is always a bit dramatic ;)
Off to Oregon! Quick weekend trip to pick up our new registered heritage American Guineas Hog gilts from Cascade Meadows Farm! We are so excited to be bringing these girls home! It has been years in the making - following their posts, reading and researching this breed, their care, and conservation. Registered animals are so important in breed conservation. Being able to track pedigrees and lineages is key to restoring this breed. We had the opportunity to visit Cascade Mead...ows over the summer, and were amazed at not only the quality of their animals, but also the high level of care and dedication they put towards their animals and their land as well as their patience with my millions of questions! Excited to be diving into the world of registered American Guinea Hogs and spreading awareness about this amazing breed! Cute piglet pictures to come ;)

With how popular our Nigies are today, it’s hard to believe that they were only recently in need of conservation! We are proud to work on breed improvement by participating in American Dairy Goat Association performance programs to genetically improve the goats in our herd. You can read more about our Nigerian Dwarf Goats on our website: www.Cvhfarm.com
I am excited to announce this next breeding that took place this weekend! Featured Breeding: Cascade Valley TD Felicitas x Agape's Prize Sulaymaan Quinn... Felicity is out of Miniprints Juna 3*M by Stayawhile B Tactical Decision *B. Felicity is exactly what I was hoping for from this cross! She has great teat placement, a wide, arched escutcheon, great brisket extension and depth, and is more angular than her dam. Juna is doing great on the stanchion in her first lactation, and has great attachments. Sully was the 2019 ADGA National Show 1st place Get of Sire, and is out of SG Wood Bridge Farm LeviandDiamond 1*M VEEE91 who has great rear udder height, attachments, front end assembly and depth. Sully has passed this on to his daughters as well with multiple of his daughters placing well at Nationals! Of his daughters on test, all are ranging between 1300 - 1600lbs of milk! Not only does he have amazing conformation in this lines, but brings exceptional milk production as well. I am hoping to improve rear udder height, length, and milk production in this cross. All kids from this breeding will be retained. Planned Pedigree: https://www.adgagenetics.org/PlannedPedigreePrint.aspx See the rest of our planned breedings here: https://www.cascadevalleyheritagefarm.com/planned-breedings Located in Chico, CA. When it’s 2am and you think you hear coyotes near the house but it’s just your bucks feeling frisky (Listen with volume on)
Chico State Farm has pumpkins for sale and organic produce at the Organic Vegetable Project, my favorite place for amazing produce! And I love that I get to support students learning about Organic Ag at the same time
Update: Flown the coop! Mixed bantam pullet looking for a new flock head poof makes me think she’s mixed with either Crested Cream Legbar or my Legbar x Wellsummer olive eggers. ... Located in north Chico, CA. PM for more information.
Love this idea!! Producers benefit from getting feed for their stock, and landowners benefit by getting their land cleared for fire prevention!
Love this! Working in harmony with natural systems is what we are all about. As we get ready to start planting hedgerows, this is definitely something we will keep in mind! Native plants, interspersed with herbs, fruit trees, and vines.
I feel attacked.
