So sad we’re not open this year. The whole crew is going thru withdrawals! We should have opened last night. We realize it was the right thing to do, especially with the latest shelter orders, but depressing! There are lots of lights on homes this year, though, so we can all enjoy a nice Christmas Lights drive ! Merry Christmas, stay safe, and we’re looking forward to seeing you next year!

Well - within the few days since I last posted, things have changed. We regret to announce that we will not be opening a Christmas Display this year. Deacon Dave has determined that due to Covid-19 and with concerns to the crew's health, we will not be building the display or putting up the lights. It was going to be a challenge as it was when it came time to building. Although the display was planned with a lot of modular parts that could be constructed at crew member's home...s, there would still be a lot of time required on-site. It would be problematic for the crew to work together yet stay socially distant. In considering the manpower required once we opened - traffic control, line control, safety, security, and all the myriad of things the crew must deal with nightly, many crew members did not feel comfortable being in crowds and in the cold weather. Most are in vulnerable groups due to age or health issues, and we do not want to compromise their health. The good news is this gives us bonus time to plan next year's display! So you can count on a bigger and better Christmas display to enjoy in 2021! We are all disappointed, and to be honest, many of us have spent many, many years doing this, and we're not sure yet how we will cope with not enjoying it ourselves! Our prayers go to those in the front-line of Covid, those that are experiencing the terrible disease, and those family and friends that must cope with loss and illness. Please wear your mask, wash your hands, and help us all get though this quickly so things can go back to normal! It's a simple ask.........care about your community.

We know it's only August, but we've been thinking Christmas for months! Obviously in these uncertain times, it's hard to make plans and know how to plan. But, we will have a display this year! It may be that we can't open the gates for the walk-through experience, but we are planning a beautiful, fun experience for all to enjoy the holidays! We are still planning on opening the first Friday in December, however we are NOT having an opening ceremony this year. Hours are still to be determined. So - you can still make plans to come on by and get the Christmas spirit! Merry Christmas!

Tonight's a good night to come by! No rain, no crowds! Santa is scheduled to be here Friday night, but he has to cancel if it's rainy. He can't afford to get sick right before his big night! If it's not raining, he will be there around 6:30 pm until about 9. His next scheduled time is the 13th. But he often just stops in because he loves it here!!
